Default Self Tuning - Khyber G-10 (Plugs, valve clearance, spark gap etc)

    Salam

    dear members/experts

I own a khyber 1996. Recently overhauled its engine completely at home by myself except the mechanist part. It has its first oil change at 1100Km yesterday and i am planning to tune it. I have following query for the learned members/experts

Q.1. recommended spark plugs for khyber g-10 on CNG
    Q.2. Recommended spark plug gap?
    Q.3. Recommended tappet setting Hot/cold?
Q.4. Running was on petrol with Caltex Havoline formula and now i have switched to CNG with Shell helix HX7 10-40W (synthetic) , is shell HX7 ok?

What else should i do or check to get max output and efficiency from my g-10?

    regards

after-note: In addition to the above queries, this thread also contains info on carburetor, AC, electrical, cooling system, brakes & gear issues related to khyber G-10.

Special thanks to following experts :
Xulfiqar, Fas133, Margallar, Ahsanzs, wasay_Ahmad, Xplorer, jz, Daniyal
for their valuable contributions and last but not least
I am greatful to Cracked for keeping this thread alive by
    raising all the queries/question.

Does anyone know if mehran's or cultus sumitomo plug wires will work on khyber without any alterations?
I visited a dealership and they had sumitomo wires(2010 stamped on them). If they work, would it be advisable to use them as the year printed is 2010.

I checked mine, they are 2006. But I installed them 2-3 months ago after reading here about low vs high resistance wires. What's the price?. There is seiwa and NGK too, never tried it though, but I heard seiwa are also good.

Recently had my khyber/swift dented painted and suspension repaired frm scratch. Denter messed the body big time and got the rest work completed frm another painter. Now when i turn the steering fully right the left wheel touches body frm front and the axle rod rubs with the body while turning steering especially on bump the left outer cv joint was replaced inner repaired. The car is yet to be aligned but i was wondering if the axle rubbing is related to aligent though the wheel rubbing probably is. Would appreciate if smbdy cud provide an insight.

problem sorted, problems with chassis rails front, another question, when i checked the underside of khyber at alignment shop, the chassis rails or gadri as commonly known only extends to half the floor, i was surprised as all my other cars are sedans and they have proper chassis rails starting from under front headlights till rear bumper, but under khyber there are no such rails just 2 feet of metal. do all hatchbacks rather suzuki hatchbacks have no chassis rails

Which brand axle kit did you use?. Gabriel or KYB new rear shocks?.

I think this mechanic was recommended by either @speedster_101 or @Xplorer. I will also visit him, when needed.

Did you get new front headlights?.

    Question Gear oil

How to check gear oil? There is no dipstick like in mehran. All i see on gearbox are screws/nuts but nothing like dipstick. Do i have to unscrew some nut? And from where to fill gear oil in khyber?

There is a filler bolt located on the side of the gearbox. If the oil is at the bottom of it, then its full. The same bolt is used to fill the oil after draining old one.

if you can, get ngk blue or denso wires from abroad. I plan to get a set for my car in a couple of months.

Sumitomo was good on my car when it was new, the conductor was good, but the insulation was weak and it started arcing in a year.

You mean I will need screw driver? Its not like mehran in which dip stick can be unscrewed by hand? I can see one bolt of + shape near clutch cable on gearbox, is that it?

Size: 159.2 KB @smijaz @Xulfiqar if i am not mistaken, the upper bolt is the filler bolt for the gear oil of khyber. The same is used to check its level.

I am not getting your picture.. I will take pic of my khyber and post it here.. its like u open bonnet, look down towards battery side, on gearbox, there is + type screw, i think thats the one. Because at this same location there is dipstick in mehran, but that can be unscrwed by hand.

The play in front door window goes only when it is closed.

Which quality you bought.. Coz it may be the channel or it can be the fitting as cutting at corners is a bit tricky

No. Its not on top near the clutch cable. Its on the side adjacent to left inner axle.
