    Default Self Tuning - Khyber G-10 (Plugs, valve clearance, spark gap etc)

    Salam

    dear members/experts

    I own a khyber 1996. Recently overhauled its engine completely at home by myself except the mechanist part. It has its first oil change at 1100Km yesterday and i am planning to tune it. I have following query for the learned members/experts

    Q.1. recommended spark plugs for khyber g-10 on CNG
    Q.2. Recommended spark plug gap?
    Q.3. Recommended tappet setting Hot/cold?
    Q.4. Running was on petrol with Caltex Havoline formula and now i have switched to CNG with Shell helix HX7 10-40W (synthetic) , is shell HX7 ok?

    What else should i do or check to get max output and efficiency from my g-10?

    I think you can adjust a Mehran's carburettor (indian kabuli) which will cost you around 2K from Saddar rawalpindi...but do consult with mechanic first...genuine carburettor is available in chah sultan rawalindi in between 6 to 10k depending on condition...

    never go for kabli coil.

    You have 2 options:

    The genuine denso coil which costs around 5k new. Best option if you can justify the expense.

    New era coil for carby cultus which has the same setup as old one i.e the thimbles and not a connector. Ask for carby cultus one or one that goes bolt on in your khyber. This should cost around 1400rs.

    I have been using new era one for a year and its going great. No idea about parts shops in khi.

    If a plug gets shorted out a couple of times (the same one), what does that show about the condition of the engine?
    And what would be the process to rectify it?

    Posting a photo of previous faulty plugs help a lot in finding out what is wrong.

    Look at the chart and see in which of these conditions your faulty plug is.

    Brother, the plugs were somewhat a mixture of Carbon Fouled and Oil Fouled. I have changed the plugs but what could be the cause and solution for this problem, like an overhaul of the engine or just the rings or altogether something else?

    If one plug is getting oil fouled repeatedly, then the problem is in one cylinder only. It could be worn out piston rings, cylinder and valve guides, as per mentioned in chart.

    A good to way to start diagnosis is to do an 'engine compression test', charges are ~500/- and it can be done from most Enercon outlets.

    Get both dry and wet test done and share the readings here. It will reveal the condition of engine, individual cylinders, rings and valves, which will assess whether engine needs overhauling, rings replacement only, or just one cylinder repair only.

    To locate nearest Enercon Outlets, you can call at this helpline number 051-2272649 and request further info.

    They mostly do only dry compression test, but request them to do wet test too, charges are same though.

    In wet test, they will add some small amount of oil into spark plug holes and then re take compression test readings.

    My car thermostat valve failed for two times .. Bought kabli ones And both stucked open .. Dont buy kabli ones buy new one .. Kabli one was for 350 and new one 800

    cultus g10b efi 16 valve engine fit and gear ho jaye ga khyber mai???
    without any major alteration in the engine foundation??
