    Default Self Tuning - Khyber G-10 (Plugs, valve clearance, spark gap etc)

    Salam

    dear members/experts

    I own a khyber 1996. Recently overhauled its engine completely at home by myself except the mechanist part. It has its first oil change at 1100Km yesterday and i am planning to tune it. I have following query for the learned members/experts

    Q.1. recommended spark plugs for khyber g-10 on CNG
    Q.2. Recommended spark plug gap?
    Q.3. Recommended tappet setting Hot/cold?
    Q.4. Running was on petrol with Caltex Havoline formula and now i have switched to CNG with Shell helix HX7 10-40W (synthetic) , is shell HX7 ok?

    What else should i do or check to get max output and efficiency from my g-10?

    @fas and Smijaz, Guys i've already checked the whole airfilter assembly its perfectly fine and for your info, The Air Filter BOX/Assembly is brand new and it's been working gr8 for the last six months, the whole problem occured after the adjustment/setting of mixture needle. come on guys i want your expert opinion!

    Butt CNG you mentioned is a reliable workshop. next time ask for an expert first tell him the problem in detail and ask them to service the regulator and check the pressure valve operation properly.

    You have done it right the first time coz rise in rpm is normal when you adjust the mixture properly. Instead of returning the setting you should have adjusted rpm from the main screw ( the long one near the throttle lever) then convert to cng and adjust the CNG rpm from the CNG kit.

    this issue is serious no doubt, the wires can get in contact with ground or with each other causing engine to stall at any time. I had the same problem so I opened up the dissy to get rid of the broken/tapped ends by soldering them to the igniter directly. This experiment of mine costed me 2300 for the igniter coz i didnt marked the wire before removing them from the igniter and forgot which one goes where when it came to connecting them, in the end i ended up with a penalty.

    to fix and remove the joint in the wire you have to sold them directly to the igniter in the dissy but be very careful about the connections.

    if its not choking when you place you hand on the intake then engine is taking air from some where it should not.

    check all the vacuum ports and pipe connected to the carb and idle up solenoids/diaphragms. also check the vacuum filter on the intake manifold for any open ports.

    if not satisfied then post pics of air container lid inside, carburetor without filter container, filter container from underneath.

    ijaz bhai rpm screw is already to its limit towards lowest rpm,the screw dont works beyond the point its been set rite now..
    wen i adjust fuel mixture screw so tht black smoke dont comes out,the rpm goes high n tht rpm dont comes down no matter wat i do to rpm screw...
    so i had to fiddle again with fixture screw n black smoke is back again...

    2ndly,i think its best i shud get wires of distributor to be done by some professional,wen ever i do anything with car,results never came out favorable,so its a NO-GO for this DIY on my own:p

    n ijaz bhai there is this another problem with car too,wen i convert car on petrol wen its warm,it goes fine..but if i keep car standing for like 4-5 hours on petrol,car wont start on petrol,no matter how many selfs..so i had to switch on cng,n wen car strts ,i put cng conveter button to middle so cng n petrol both r cut,n car runs on petrol already in pipes..
    y is this so?
    i mean car,wen cold,dont strts on petrol!

    I went for the computerized CNG tuning of my car. He adjusted the CNG T valve and also the gas and air mixture from CNG kit. Another important thing he did is to block the air intake pipe a bit.

    Now car is running is perfectly awesome. He told me if you still notice miss fires then change the coil wire.

    Dashpot's pin, which operates through vacuum, holds up a lever with a adjustment bolt. this lever is connected to the throttle.loosen up the adjustment bolt to reduce the idle rpm.

    so how to adjust it?
    strt car n convert on petrol,set mixture so black smoke done comes,then set thru dash pot screw to fit rpm?
    n then cng py tune?
    but wat abt car no strtin on petrol on colder car?

    ok...ill adjust this tomorow..
    ijaz bhai i put in kabli pcv but tik tik sound is still coming from pcv...old one had same problem,but old one was like wen i blew air from its top,it took much pressure from my mouth to let air thru it...was it faulty?
    i feel engine now breathin much better now,i mean smooth response now!but tht tik tik sound at certain rpm annoys

    i dont think so coz it is supposed to give some resistance so that it opens up at certain rpms only enabling stable idling.

    ok,one question,i have pcv in my hand,n wen i shake it,new one makes sound like some thing is moving in,but in old one,on shakin,nothing moves...which ones fine?
