Default Self Tuning - Khyber G-10 (Plugs, valve clearance, spark gap etc)

    Salam

    dear members/experts

I own a khyber 1996. Recently overhauled its engine completely at home by myself except the mechanist part. It has its first oil change at 1100Km yesterday and i am planning to tune it. I have following query for the learned members/experts

Q.1. recommended spark plugs for khyber g-10 on CNG
    Q.2. Recommended spark plug gap?
    Q.3. Recommended tappet setting Hot/cold?
Q.4. Running was on petrol with Caltex Havoline formula and now i have switched to CNG with Shell helix HX7 10-40W (synthetic) , is shell HX7 ok?

What else should i do or check to get max output and efficiency from my g-10?

    regards

after-note: In addition to the above queries, this thread also contains info on carburetor, AC, electrical, cooling system, brakes & gear issues related to khyber G-10.

Special thanks to following experts :
Xulfiqar, Fas133, Margallar, Ahsanzs, wasay_Ahmad, Xplorer, jz, Daniyal
for their valuable contributions and last but not least
I am greatful to Cracked for keeping this thread alive by
    raising all the queries/question.

To my knowledge there is no such thing as original sanden available new in the market today. My opinion would be to go with original khyber or cultus one from used parts market but beware they usually have taiwani evaporator (made dirty artificially) fitted in genuine plastic case claiming it be the original stuff. Or you can go for the usual chinese stuff (stamped as sanden) available every where.

if the guy said he cannot install a multilflow condenser in your car - do not visit him again, he obviously is an idiot - if you can buy a properly shaped and sized multiflow condenser complete with fitting flanges - you can easily install it in your car - A good ac mechanic will make it fit perfectly - someone who wants to work - has a hydraulic crimp press for the pipes and can also make some brackets too.

about the evaporator - smijaz is spot on on the cheap quality evaporators being available, If I were you I would find the authorised distributor for Success and buy it from them. pretty good quality items they have.

for the compressor - get a clean denso unit if you can - they work good and are plentiful - the problem is that not all ac repair shops are good and diss about the denso compresor being bad - these very shops have no idea how to detect a bad tx valve or insufficient superheat shedding - find someone who can make sense of an A/C system (not idiotic shops who wash the evap and condenser coils with caustic ash)

    Thanks smijaz for replying

i will look for 5 blade fan. if couldnt find one, i will get a kabli one.
i personally checked for the fan motor shaft play; found play along the shaft, not laterally... is this play ok?
the idea of installing bearing instead of bush is good...

    @Xulfiqar
good reply... but i am gonna stick to the stock setup as dont have overheating issues... anyway very good and unique info you provided. thanks

    Welcome.
Your radiator fan motor looks Ok as the play you are referring to is normal.

the plug is not getting oily but the surface which shown in the image get very dirty. nect time i will post the picture of plug.

3800/- for evap and TXV both or only evap? If you got both in 3800/- then its very very cheap.
Is it for R12 or R134a? any such thing mentioned on it?

Helping tip for longer life is to put a foam filter on blower's inlet. It will prevent dust from entering into the fins of the evaporator.

i have corolla 82 evaporator in my car (as told by ac mechanic) and i think i will need to replace the compressor too, as the gas leaks out (half of it), if not used for long (during winter)

in how much will i get a kabli evaporator? if new one cheaper then which one?
    Sanden and Success compressor price?

i will prefer optimal choice i.e. medium price and working fine...

lol thanks - thats what most of my freinds tell me too, Anokhay item ke baat karta hai.

Anyways - the radiator fan wont help as much - the problem with heatsoaking of the condenser is due to the ineffecient condenser fan or massively high head pressures. I replace the front condenser fan in a Khyber/Cultus with a multiblade SPAL or Bosch Unit - after fully verifying the A/C system is spot on. The mentioned fan move an incredible amount of air as compared to the "bichara" factory condenser fan.

Another point is that - (applicable for aftermarket A/C in a FWD car) the compressor discharge pipe should enter the coolest part of the condenser meaning where the most air is blowing through - in your SA310 its the condenser fan side - this way the condenser will not soak with heat and raise engine temperature.

As for the main radiator cooling fan - It would be wise to upgrade to a nicer fan 5 blades used fan will obviously have warped blades, get a model whose blades cannot warp, is quiet and moves serious amount of air.

There is another point I usually notice, These A/C shops do not care if the discharge pipe from the compressor has kinks in the metal parts or is very near to other heat sources, It should be smooth all the way and if near a heat source remedy it somehow, longer pipe, clamping etc.

Ive used Success and they perform very good - but I only buy from their distributor directly as I know people there. for TX valves - nothing beats the Denso brand - The evap frosts over nicely

i bought success from its distributor but its box says MANUFACTURED FOR SUCCESS SINGAPORE;...
this means its not made in singapore?maybe some china stuff haina?

i used ac today but didnt find any radical change in cooling...normal cooling..ac mechanic said tht it will improve within day or two cuz coil will make its moisture n all..btw the pipe entering the evaporator coil in engine bay was cool n was wet all the way...means compressor was workin fine?
system has no leakage ...so as i have thermostat in car too so i turn on radiator fan with ac fan ...is it ok?i mean no bad about it right?

^^which condenser is in your system, I mean is it multi-flow type?
And the gas you charged? R12 or R134a?
Actually these days most of the ac mechanics are using Chinese gases, which do not cool properly but they are at half price than genuine/branded refrigerant gases.

^^No, I have no such experience, I have just heard of this issue.
Just find some trust worthy ac wala.
But in your system I think condenser is responsible for less cooling because for R134 gas, multi-flow type condenser is used.
