Thread: Self Tunning - Khyber G-10 (Plugs, valve clearance, spark gap etc)

    Default Self Tuning - Khyber G-10 (Plugs, valve clearance, spark gap etc)

    Salam

    dear members/experts

    I own a khyber 1996. Recently overhauled its engine completely at home by myself except the mechanist part. It has its first oil change at 1100Km yesterday and i am planning to tune it. I have following query for the learned members/experts

    Q.1. recommended spark plugs for khyber g-10 on CNG
    Q.2. Recommended spark plug gap?
    Q.3. Recommended tappet setting Hot/cold?
    Q.4. Running was on petrol with Caltex Havoline formula and now i have switched to CNG with Shell helix HX7 10-40W (synthetic) , is shell HX7 ok?

    What else should i do or check to get max output and efficiency from my g-10?

    Today i have visited Ahmad CNG Link Whadat Road, Lahore.

    They are quite professional persons. I met with Mr Babar and he treated me very well. They serviced the whole Blower inside the Dash Board, Compressor Condenser and finally put R-12 in AC system. Compressor was old and called turbo Compressor. So all system was of R-12. They took almost 4 hours and then relieved me from there.

    Charges were as under,

    Gas R-12 Rs 2000/-
    Gas Filter Replaced Rs 450/-
    Over all service Charges Rs 500/-
    Total 2950/-

    and i am satisfied.

    Yes bro that bolt comes with landi Ranzo. In my opinion you don't open the kit yourself. get it checked from any valid mechanic.

    Security system module and central locking module are two separate modules and they are interconnected and there are two 12v relays in the central locking module one for opening and other for closing the locks.Check them.If further assistance is required just let me know.

    Rather cheap for a receiver/drier - is this the black one or the OEM thick silver one - I had a rather stupid experience with one of these black unbranded chinese driers - the dessicant bag inside blew up choking the liquid line and TX valve, That was enough gaaliyan right there, as I had just installed it complete 4 days ago.

    If your system burst a pipe - you definitely need to replenish the oil level in it, because a large sudden leak will push out all the oil too, a slow leak leaves it inside.

    The bit about refrigerant having oil premixed with it is mostly a lie, you need to put in oil separately (choose a Suniso Brand oil) - most A/C shops do not carry the real thing because a 4 litre bottle of branded Suniso or Sanden oil costs about Rs 10,000/- You should also investigate why the discharge line burst - and rectify that before starting off with new work.

    the best eyeball way to see R12 is to measure the bottle weight and pressure according to the ambient temperature.

    it must be the black one coz oem one cost more than 1200. I knew You have always something rare to suggest but now i know why, because, only the rarest thing happens to you. desiccant bag blew up

    I hope no such thing happens in this case coz it was me who referred him there.

    This is not OEM Silver one. From Top it is Black. He told me that it is much better. It will easily serve its purpose for one season. In next season it will be replaced by new one. Silver one is also replaced after one season usually. Both work same and equally. He is responsible for any problem.

    yup,security system is working but the cantral locking system is just working wen i open up car with remote,car dont locks with remote...

    can u show picture of the V12 relay???i have located the central locking n security system module...v12 relays need to b found...i dont knw how they look like

    brother i checked all wires of central locking...the central locking module wired r goin to some white color thing,
    is tht the v12 relay?
    there r two of tht white thingies with wires coing from one central locking module n other from lock module..
    ive chkd all fuses and wires ,all r good...wat to do next?

    Ijaz Bhai Today i have traveled out of City, Faisalabad and just came back and updating my experience.

    Ac performance was excellent. But i felt a noticeable decrease in pic without AC. My khyber was running on CNG and consumption was also good. But the only issue is with its PIC. when I put 3rd gear i felt noticeable vibration in my foot from clutch Lever/Paddel. But on 4th gear vibration vanished. Before this I have traveled to Gujrat 1 month before but the Car was running at 120-135KM/h speed and car felt no any load. Like gari barai aram sai is speed ko achieve kar rai thee. But today it hardly touched 120km/h speed and with heavy heart. At some moment I stop the CAR on Motorway and tightened the plug wires. After that speed was Ok and raised to 130. But after 30-45 minutes speed again decreased to 110-115. There is no oil in CNG Kit. All this activity was without AC.

    What is your opinion inthis regard.

    In my opinion Plug wires and Clutch wire ka problem hai. Plugs are NGK and changed 1 month before. Wires changed 4 month before and put ultima CNG-wires orange colour with DENSO Coil.

    My opinion would be to check air filter condition first.

    Self Tunning - Khyber G-10 Plugs valve clearance spark gap etc -218513

    Open the central locking module and you would find two relays (as shown above but color may be different).Change both of them as they are not much expensive.(Rs.15 to 20 each).These are used in UPS kits so you could get it from any UPS repair shop easily.

    Relays are soldered to the PCB.You just need a soldering iron to de-sold it from the PCB.

    Air filter is OK. Gari CNG pe within city theak hai but on petrol on idle gari band ho jati hai. I have removed the air lid and filter and started the car on petrol. as soon as I relax the accelerator, car shut off . In early norning same behavior is observed on CNG also. But after some time as engine heat up properly then it becomes ok.

    Cant understand the problem.

    Your CNG regulator is freezing internally.. get it heated by connecting the coolant pipes meant for it.
