Default Self Tuning - Khyber G-10 (Plugs, valve clearance, spark gap etc)

    Salam

    dear members/experts

I own a khyber 1996. Recently overhauled its engine completely at home by myself except the mechanist part. It has its first oil change at 1100Km yesterday and i am planning to tune it. I have following query for the learned members/experts

Q.1. recommended spark plugs for khyber g-10 on CNG
    Q.2. Recommended spark plug gap?
    Q.3. Recommended tappet setting Hot/cold?
Q.4. Running was on petrol with Caltex Havoline formula and now i have switched to CNG with Shell helix HX7 10-40W (synthetic) , is shell HX7 ok?

What else should i do or check to get max output and efficiency from my g-10?

    regards

after-note: In addition to the above queries, this thread also contains info on carburetor, AC, electrical, cooling system, brakes & gear issues related to khyber G-10.

Special thanks to following experts :
Xulfiqar, Fas133, Margallar, Ahsanzs, wasay_Ahmad, Xplorer, jz, Daniyal
for their valuable contributions and last but not least
I am greatful to Cracked for keeping this thread alive by
    raising all the queries/question.

Even with gasket, we use normal silicone, which leaks here and there. As this silicone cannot stick to metal in oily environment. What if we use some other adhesive with it which could also be easily cleaned off when reopened?
    Any ideas?
    We have epoxies, samad-bond, etc.
you HAVE to use the correct sealant - anything else will leak. the regular silicone you buy is too thick and slippery - it squeezes itself out of the joint as you tighten the pan. The sealant I mentioned above is available (its used in the heavy machinery business).

Living in Pakistan you have to keep such sealants with yourself - because most mechanics do not even have proper tools - let alone sealants.

The 3bond tube will cost about Rs 2000/- nowadays but is enough for about 30 pans.

Experts! I want to know the primary and secondary jet sizes in carb...

As far no one has asked or mentioned it on pakwheels anywhere.

The problem seems to be the bigger jet size (primary) which overflows the petrl when we press the pedal and the engine tries to stall and then with a jerk picks up speed...

Please help me in this regard!

no - the acceleration jerk that you face is caused by a bad plunger pump in the carburettor, the plunger's job is to dump a stream of raw fuel into the primary throat to accelerate the engine, because it takes a split second for the vacuum signal to activate the primary and main jet fuel circuits in the carburettor - the plunger takes care of this time gap.

Check and see the amount of fuel dumped by the plunger on 1/4 to 1/2 throttle opening. Mostly the linkages wear out and the plunger mechanism becomes sloppy causing late plunger activation, you can rebuild it though.

I beleive SMijaz also faced a similar problem, and his fault culprit was the missing shroud under the distributor cap.

the fuel pump was spitting fuel more than enough. plus the jet size was bigger. when the throttle was opened suddenly the fuel would splash upward. we changed the jet to 98 size and reduced the pump plunging stroke by bending the link a little more. the problem got solved sufficiently. i hope its mileage on petrol will also reduce.

then there was problem of play in butterfly shaft. which would not let the rpm to come down to the idle rpm untill i tapped the pedal. so replaced the shaft with brass made shaft from sultan ku. still the problem is there but not much. i will drive with it a day or two. may be it seats properly, otherwise will show it to the sultan ku guy.

^^ I believe you have asked this before also, the A/C idle up vacuum pot is connected from the side of the carburettor near the secondary throttle opener. There is a picture in this thread of the carby showing it, Its also a generic item and comes in universal form that you can adapt for fitment for your carby. Go to a suzuki parts dealer or a good A/C repair shop and ask them about it.

The next job would be to correctly route the wiring again, meaning the A/C on signal should go to the A/C idle up vacuum solenoid while the lights/fan signal should go to the original solenoid it already has.

regarding the Dug dug sound, possible reasons are impossible to describe in words but usually its

    1. leaked shock absorber
    2. worn out Chimta bush
    3. worn steering assembly ends

get it checked with the above in mind

You can get ac idle up solenoid and its diaphram from a good ac shop.

then you can ask an electrician to first reset the wiring as it was prior to ac setup and properly connect and configure the electrical load idle mechanism. this will be activated whenever you switch on the parking/head lights, ac/radiator fan or defogger etc.

next step will be to install the solenoid connected with compressor clutch wiring and the diaphram to the dashpot side of the carb. Run the piping from the intake vaccum to the diaphram through solenoid.

Whenever I switch-on the fan of my Suzuki Khyber, its blower start producing some noise, as if something is stuck in its blades. Can something went inside blower unit? Like a leaf? Or it might be possible that one of the fan blades is broken.
I went to an electrician, he told me that the blower unit needs to be opened and for that, dashboard nuts must be loosened. It will take 3 hours. He was asking 1000 Rs for that. Is it justified?

    @cracked
The pic is of G10 engine and air filter is removed because the engine has to be dismantled and a cup is attached instead of air filter to prevent anything dropping into the carb. accidently.

    @speedster_101
Dash board nuts are not needed to loose to dismantle blower motor.
