I overhauled my Khyber's engine in Nov 2008 and it costed me 20,000 Rs at that time.
I tried my best to get best quality parts. But the seals (Tappet cover gasket, chamber seal, engine main seal, distributor seal) start leaking after 6,7 months. I had to change them again. Other than that, as far as cylinder boring or piston work is concerned, it is fine, as the pick is good and the car is not decreasing oil at all.
I will not suggest you the mechanic from whom I get my car's engine overhauled as he used to argue a lot if I ask him to do some work again as I am not satisfied with the previous work.
I think you should have a budget of 25000 Rs for Khyber engine overhaul nowadays.
