    Default Need Help Regarding Radiator.

    Guy's..
I need some help regarding changing the radiator in my Suzuki Khyber (1998). It is having it's FF radiator till now but unfortunately it has developed a leak in its fins(jaali) and its beyond repair.

Now i need your advice which radiator will fit in means what i should say to the shop keeper.

    Any specific brand name?
    Single core or double core?
    Copper one or aluminum one?
For which car do i need. Because if i go to shops and take the name of Khyber they straight away say that no parts available for this car anymore..?? 😓

    Guy's
I just did a market survey the rates quoted were

Only Khyber chinese aluminum radiator with plastic tanks is available for 3800 RS.

Other than that cultus copper radiator from market rates are around 4000-4400 RS for old carby version dual channel radiator company Alvin.
And for cultus efi 4800-5200 RS with same specs just mounting is different.

Also inquired the rates from suzuki 3S.
They quoted 3800 RS for old carby Cultus radiator single channel .
And EFI Cultus dual channel was for 7236 RS.

Loads radiator is not available in the market here in Faisalabad...

So guide me which radiator i should get.!

Just discussed with mechanic he said go for a double channel radiator of carby Cultus.... He will use the mounts from the radiator which is previously fitted.
    Or
He suggested to go to scrap yard and ask there if they can replace only the fins(jali) using your orignal tank's.!

But i am not gonna take risk with the radiator repair as we have previously bad experience with radiator repairs for our cultus 2007....

Hope fully will change the radiator within 1-2 days as i got time...!

    Suggestions are welcome!

    Go for copper, dual channel.
If the radiator fan was doing well with A/C ON, that's good. Otherwise install a relay with fan to increase its speed, you will feel a considerable difference. The gauge will never go above half.
Also use a good quality coolant, not the Osaka ones. If you were already using a coolant, make sure it is flushed out properly.
Its not a good idea to mix coolants of different types.

    Thank'u for the reply...

Radiator fan already have a relay installed.
    And the fan is auto.
Tstat is also present in the system.
We are using ZIC coolant from about 5 years. And change that after 1.5-2 years duration regardless of mileage.
Instead car still has its engine sealed and clutch plates all the things are still FF.

The issue was in my city i am unable to find the correct radiator for khyber. So talked to mechanic and also saboor73 recommended to use cultus dual channel radiator so i think i don't have any choice instead of doing some alteration.

Cultus dual channel radiator is made of copper or aluminium ?
Yes ZIC is good. I buy it from zicoil.pk. In this way, you are sure that its not a fake. The delivery is free, plus you get points which you can redeem next time.

    Problem solved.
I was able to find the khyber's orignal radiator with same mountings. Though price was comparatively high.
I got that radiator for 5600 RS.
Then i went to the mechanic and got the work done and added coolant now MA car is working fine previously in traffic jam or slow driving the temperature needle used to stay higher than middle but now everything is ok.
Rest pictures of radiator and temperature needle are as follows.Need Help Regarding Radiator. - bae86d4ffef3152bdd91e9b74a37acd9Need Help Regarding Radiator. - 85265a849d47486693485c89cff26792Need Help Regarding Radiator. - debab49f073b7b58c105a444e735657dNeed Help Regarding Radiator. - fc8de7a1268ef9253f192bdd3fdd0ec0
