    Default Need Help Regarding Radiator.

    Guy's..
I need some help regarding changing the radiator in my Suzuki Khyber (1998). It is having it's FF radiator till now but unfortunately it has developed a leak in its fins(jaali) and its beyond repair.

Now i need your advice which radiator will fit in means what i should say to the shop keeper.

    Any specific brand name?
    Single core or double core?
    Copper one or aluminum one?
For which car do i need. Because if i go to shops and take the name of Khyber they straight away say that no parts available for this car anymore..?? 😓

They said me actual price of radiator is 4800 RS and the remaining 800 RS are for cargo. That's why we are charging you 5600 RS.
So i guess they bought the radiator on my request from some other dealer........

Loads limited is a Pakistani company which is OEM for Honda, Toyota and Suzuki. It manufactures radiators, silencers, and some body parts. Suzuki 3S must have sourced it directly from Loads Limited. However I was unable to find Khyber radiator on their website.
Is this radiator dual channel? The Khyber's original one was single.

But they can't source it from lords limited(Karach) as i only have to wait 5 hours.
I have gone to the suzuki 3s at some 10:15 am and i got a call from them by 030 pm.
We have got your radiator you can pic that up Any time.

I think they have sourced the radiator from Lahore.

According to my mechanic and Suzuki 3S the radiator is dual channel.
Yes its weird they haven't mentioned about it at their website maybe they are not in manufacturing now...

Allwin and Loads make very good radiators.

Yesterday while I was getting my Khyber's A/C serviced, I saw three columns of radiator are having seepage.
The car is not having any heat up issues and the coolant level is not decreasing as well but the radiator seems weak. It was serviced a month ago.

    Need Help Regarding Radiator -1683374

I showed this pic to my mechanic, first he was not willing to accept that its a radiator. He said its A/C condenser. When I assured him that it is radiator and that you can see green ZIC coolant seeping out of it, he blamed it on coolant. He said I told you never to put coolant, always pour fresh water and blah blah. I knew its of no use to argue so I left.

Called famous Kalia ustaad of chah Sultan and described the situation. He said don't worry just put some Ispaghol chilka in radiator and every thing will be alright. I was like WTF. Am I calling a pansaar store and inquiring about constipation?

Called Waseem Autos Saddar Rwp and the load radiator for Khyber is available for Rs. 5,500/-

My question is, can I delay it as it is not reducing coolant or change it asap?

@speedster_101 delaying something like this is not a good idea if the car has to go for a long trip in this summer heat. You may postpone it for sometime for your reasons.

Leaks like these are slow but the tiny leaks will eventually become bigger leaks and you wont even know it's leaking(no coolant spots on floor) as it evaporates.

I was experiencing the same seepage but in my case coolant was decreasing about 100 ml for 10 km..... And i kept on driving for almost 1 week like that by daily adding distilled water to the expansion tank....

And yeah these local mechanic's.... they even don't know what they are saying... When i got my new Radiator the mechanic was Like... Why are you pouring in the coolant.. Just pour in water that will perform better than coolant... 😛
    No comments for KAALIA....

Kya karay bnda inn logon ka b..

Edit: In my case the seepage was behind the condensor. At first i thought that some pipe has developed a small leak but i kept on noticing all the pipes there was no leak. Then just checked the seepage on cold start and found the leakage... But in your case it is from the front of radiator... I think you can delay that a little and change the radiator when you have some time.... Just keep an eye onn coolant level....

Yes, the leakage can increase, the car is not reliable in this condition, plus its in my head now so I will try to change it in coming week.
First I will have to order ZIC coolant from their website, which will take 2,3 days.

The A/C is stock Denso ND setup with which the car rolled out of factory.
Just changed the expansion valve yesterday.

    Ok thank'u...
My compressor needs a change now... Mechanic was suggesting me to use the mitsubishi mini pajero compressor.... With a new multi flow condensor...

Previously the FF compressor gave up in 2008 and same compressor was used as replacement with addition of multiflow condensor but now again that compressor is making weird noises... AC mechanic has said that now the compressor needs replacement...

My compressor also make noise when it is engaged. It is producing noise for the last 3 years. At the beginning of this season when I went to my A/C mechanic to get the gas refilled (it was taken out during engine overhaul), I asked him to change the compressor as well. The price of used kabli compressor was around Rs. 6500/- with six month warranty. He tested my compressor's pressure and told me that it is working fine, plus its an original compressor and you should ignore the noise and keep it. The cooling is also good so I am kind of okay with the noise.

However there is one issue. When the A/C trips OFF, sometimes it doesn't trip ON if the headlights are ON.
I have to press the accelerator a bit and then the A/C trips ON.
Mechanic has suggested to install a relay with compressor as it is not getting the required current when the headlights are ON.
When I press the accelerator, the alternator spins with more speed, thereby producing more current and the A/C trips ON.

New one was Chinese, so bought a kabli one.
The sssssssss sound we hear from A/C vents, that is expansion valve. It controls the amount of refrigerant.
The previous expansion valve was working fine a day before yesterday. It gave up all of a sudden and A/C started throwing warm air, so obviously the difference is very much evident. The air is cold now, even at blower speed 4 (with a rely)

Its my habit to see the floor, on which car is parked, for any leakages. With this radiator seepage I was a bit more careful.
Today when I started my car in the morning, I found coolant beneath the car after a few minutes.
Opened the bonnet and the coolant was dripping (like 1 drop per second) below timing belt cover. I think its water body. Don't know why it has failed, changed it 4 months ago during engine overhaul.

It was a bad water body. It was leaking from that hole shown in the picture below. Coolant marks showing leakage also visible. It was a GMB water body bought just 3.5 months ago from Koh-e-Noor traders Saddar Rwp. Don't know it was fake or just my bad luck. The previous GMB water body worked for 8 years in this car. It was still working but the blades were rusty so I replaced it during engine overhaul and got this one.

All the part's available in market are substandard these day's.... Everyone just wants to make max profit......
I used the same GMB water pump i think purchased that for 2200-/RS some 2 year's back.. That just leaked within 3 month's... After that used some local (desi) costed 1100-/RS that is still working like champ..😛
