Default Khyber fuel pump occasional leak

    Hi Guys,

Having a problem wid my khyber for last couple of weeks but cud nt get time to consult a mechanic.

The car is on CNG and i start it on cng in morning. Sometimes in morning at startup petrol starts to come out from the fuel pump. I'm not sure if it is from fuel pump or any of the three rubber pipes attached to the fuel pump. It dries up within few minutes.
I'vent tried to check it after coverting to petrol.

Any guess what could be the reason? and if i shud consult a CNG fitting workshop or an ordinary mechanic.
    Thanks.

Fuel pump leakage is typical to khyber cars. Almost every khyber gets its fuel pump leaked once a while especially after CNG conversion. The best thing to do is to get it replaced with a NEW one. Certain brands are available in the market but try getting the japanese one recommendably from a suzuki authorized dealer. About 6 months back it costed about 1600 rupees..am not sure about current price...

Agreed with @vackoo. No matter how good a quality mechanical pump you get for this car, if you run it on CNG, it will start leaking. Electronic pumps are available in the 2nd-hand market and they work pretty well with Khybers.

Many auto electricians will have one handy with them. If you can't find one, you can always go to 'Sultan da kuh' to get one. The pump for Suzuki Super Carry fits Khyber perfectly.

I am having exactly the same problem with my Suzuki Khyber. When I start my car in morning, the fuel pump leaks, then after 2 or 3 minutes the leakage stops. I have checked the rubber pipes but they are fine. The mechanic told me that fuel pump diaphragm is leaking.

Can you please tell me how you solved the problem?

If the car is showing signs of leakage during the morning startups i-e with the cold engine than you need to replace the fuel pump,
Fuel pump consists of a diaphram inside which cannot be replaced or repaired. To solve the problem you need to get a new one.
and yes this fuel leakege only occurs when the engine is cold and you will notice that it will never occur when the engine is heated up,
even after the startup in winter after 5 minutes or so you will note that there will be no more leakege
it will only occur with the engine running cold

Khyber comes equipped with a simple fuel pump not the electronic one.
And regarding the change I would suggest you to get the genuine one
