    Default '''Engin swaping in KHYBER''''

Hi all....i need some help from suzuki experts...as i juz bought an 89 swift in good body condition but bad engin condition and the approx cost in market for engin restoration is abt 25000/-..that is too much...so now m thinking to put some kabli engin of 2001 n so on cultus in it....So it possible to do that and how much it ill cost... & wil that be a good step or shall i go ahead and spend enough amount on engin restoration?
As i dunt have any info regarding suzukis...so please give ur suggessions and ideas.
    Thanx all.

mate u have plenty of choices like
    G13B:- 1300CC, 8V ,4cly ,carby,SOHC (margalla)
    G13B:-1300CC ,16V,4cly,Efi,SOHC (baleno)
    G13B:-1300cc,16V,4cly,Efi,DOHC (JMD swift,cultus)
    G16A:-1600cc,16V ,4cly,EFI,SOHC (baleno,esteem)
i dont know the local cultus engine code so that is an other choice
same goes with Alto engine .....i can go on and on in suzuki engines but they are wast for u so u stick with these ....
    ...
if u want it for CNG then i will say install margalla engine as its power is nice and it will give u good millage on CNG with AC and its parts are less expansive then any other engine i mention above and above all it will go straight in to ur engine bay with some or no modification as some JMD swift have G13 in stock as for cultus engine man its 1000cc and its power much less then margalla engine if u want power with economy then margalla engine is for u and if u drive ur car on petrol then i will say G13 DOHC is best but it will not give such good response on CNG so now its up you now what u want
    Thank you

all possible engine have been given above

    brother new cultus engine is

    G10b 1000cc 16v 4cyl rfi sohc
it will cost u same as the 1.6 baleno engine

i would say margala engine will be best to swap....u will have to spand about 15k extra ..and yr car will be running

for efi engine baleno engine will be good...but for that u have to get some wide tyres to get some grip in braking area...plus u need new springs...and u will need efi kit as well....

so if u have less mony gor for margalla engine other wise baleno engine is best

even u drive on petrol or cng......the dohc is very old 1...dont buy that ...it will give u lots of problams

Swapping engine is not too easy in Pakistan. Lol!!! U have to take ur receipt to the local registration office, pay the fee and get the number change offical cost 3,000/-. Total cost including RISHWAT 5,000/-. You can find an engine ranging from 15,000 - 45,000 (All depends on u, what kind of engine u got)

mate its not a big deal if u faced that porb with margalla gare box which i dont think so... if u do then u can also fit baleno 1300cc engine gear box in it . it will required little modification like 3 nuts have to change i mean to say u have to replace the position of 3 nuts as there location is different in margalla engine when u fit baleno gear box rest is same but i will not advice u that bec as u said earlier that u dont know much about suzuki so mechanics will rape ya money so if u have such prob with margalla gear box do check the pressure plate and clutch plate setting bec if setting is not right then gear box give such prob like :- hard shifting, slip gears ,low ration ,clutch plate small and some times smoke.... so this is the hole story i hope u understand i also use margalla but never face such prob in gear box and try to get the gear box of 94 to 96 margalla

    Thank you

if its G10 then there are again 2 choices
    G10:- 1000cc ,8v,carby,SOHC
    G10B:- 1000cc ,16V,Efi,SOHC
    @umairhamza
Margalla engine will cost u no more then 18 to 20K mint conduction if u will give ur engine then it will cost u more less and these price are for complete engine with gear box (KARACHI MARKET PRICE)
and as u have to do modification..hmmm i dont think so u have to do that u just have to buy the margalla mounts and place them in ur car with foundations same goes with the gear box mounts bec ur car original cant last long bec of engine heavy weight as margalla engine is heavy in weight as come pair to G10s

if u want to keep a suzuki engine then listen to the comments above.

if u want reliability over all else then as someone suggested above go for a 4efe toyota engine. its a snug fit but its powerful and economical and u know toyota stuff lasts forever..

    just my 2 cents.

    Dear Umair,

All of the above will cost you tons of money and time. And dealing with the mechanics is a torture !! Go find a Khyber engine in your local kabariya market. Check for it's block, should not have any sleeves. Should cost you about 8-10K. Parts you need to build your engine should hardly be, 8K. Labour, 4-5K. You can build a perfectly new engine of Khyber. Or find a perfectly good Kabli engine. Easy sway, less hassles. Less wastage of money. Engine swaps, usually means bigger callipers for brakes, change to the front suspension accordingly and a whole lot more. If going for an EFI engine like 4EFE, it is double the trouble ! I hpoe u're prepared for it.

    Regards
