Default Khyber : Shock Absorbers & Downpiping

    Assalam-o-Alaikum everyone,

    I wanted a little help.

    Shock Absorbers:

I want to know is it better to repair original shocks or buy new ones.

I went to tibet plaza and they said we will repair it for Rs.900/both. I asked many more people and they refered me to a shop near longman rubber and kheer shop, he is asking Rs. 2500 and said i will replace the shock with ones i have and will give 1 year warranty.

New shocks of Gabriel are for Rs. 3800 + fitting charges with 6 months warranty and kayaba (KYB) shocks are for Rs. 5000 made in malaysia but with no warranty.

So what should i do, get it repaired or buy new ones, everyone is saying gabriel shocks are not good, even though all new cars are fitted with gabriel shocks.

    Downpiping:

The middle dholki and pipe around it is rusted and has holes in it and making alot of noise. I have fitted an after market muffler at the end which is stainless steel and by looking at the muffler, all the silencer repairing guys are telling me to go for straight downpiping and not just replace the center dholki and pipe. They say why are you wasting this good muffler and making no sound. I don't want alot of noise thats why i didn't remove the center dholki in the first place.

What do you people suggest i should do?

    Thanks in advance.

Thank you everyone for the help, for a used car kayaba shocks were too expensive for me so i replaced them with kabli ones and he gave me a year warranty. Till now drive is smooth and much better.

As for downpiping i got the straight piping done. But he did put one custom made small dholki in the middle. He made it himself and said its an open type and will give you less noise as i wanted but will provide good free flow as well. And surely whatever he did works because sound is good, not loud and when i pressed down the accelerator previously i felt like something is stopping the car for taking pick, but now it gains speed very quickly.

Does free flow effect CNG / petrol consumption?
