Default Do Liana and Swift have the same engine?

Hi Pakwheelers, does anyone know if Liana and Swift have the same engine?

I have heard that Liana's engine has to have it's coils changed after around 50,000 kilometers in any case, no matter how well the car has been driven and maintained.

Most cars in Pakistan are twin turbo. Turbo 1=Turn AC OFF. Turbo 2=Switch Car from CNG to Petrol

I own a Liana LXi. It's a late 2006 model, driven 72k on petrol till now. I have not encountered any such thing. I am not sure about whether Liana and Swift have the same engine, though.

The 1.3l engine in Liana RXi and Swift is the same.
But the one in Swift is slightly upgraded.

And no you don't need to change coils at 50,000km.

The engine is the same, but somehow the engine head is different in Swift, the coils issue is on CNG due to less current. If it wants to be a pain, the coils might die after every 10-20k kms, if not they might last a gud 100,000kms.

On Petrol there just fine. The issue comes in when CNG is involved, my Liana coils (1 died at 18k kms and the second one died at 23k kms, CNG injector died at 24k kms sold the car at 25k kms
Get over the fact that Xli lacks power windows, Its an Xli because it lacks thoose features or else it would be a Gli or an Altis if had all the goodies.

Thanks everybody especially Chinyoti. Sad to hear about your bad experience with Liana, but the good thing is that there are still many people out there who can learn a lesson from your experience and avoid the trouble of getting a Liana (especially on CNG).

So far I have deduced that it's pretty much safe to buy a Swift if you never install CNG in it.
Most cars in Pakistan are twin turbo. Turbo 1=Turn AC OFF. Turbo 2=Switch Car from CNG to Petrol

    Even Liana on petrol

The liana ff CNg should also not be a pain, if they provide you with a proper back up, which they dont, i some where read on the internet, that using iridium plugs on waste spark systems solves the problem

Waste spark system (2 coils 2 wires) Used in (liana/baleno(02+)/Swift/Santro/Lancer)

I have used liana as well. It a good car with a very bad CNG system. Liana and Swift are the same. even the dashboard and seats are same. You can assume Swift as a Liana without trunk. Main issues with Liana are its coils and CNG. if you are running it on petrol, its fine. But my advice is to go for a car which suzuki tried to copy by making Swift and its VITZ. way better than any car arounf with a very good consumption, ABS etc
