Question LIANA 1.6 AUTOMATIC - Opinion wanted

    Dear Friends,

I need opinion on getting a LIANA 1.6 AUTOMATIC, fully loaded, model 2010, unregistered, from an authorized Pak Suzuki dealer, EX Stock, almost in the price of SUZUKI SWIFT DLX (almost). I will drive this vehicle on Petrol (No CNG). Am also getting a 2 year / 40K km warranty with this.

My earlier ride was a Corolla GLi 2007 which was also driven on Petrol only.

Due to certain financial limitations, unfortunately, I cannot go for a Corolla GLi (not even XLi and City to be honest), so I had narrowed down to LIANA (1.3L V-URV and SWIFT). I was more inclined toward SWIFT but now with this new option on the table (1.6 AUTO) I am more inclined towards it.

I need opinion on whether this car is reliable...I need to use it as a daily runner and frequent motorway trips and occasional trips on national highways. This car will be with me for the next 4 years minimum.

I cannot go for imported vehicles so please do not recommend the likes of VITz and BELTA etc.

Good or bad personal experiences with Liana in general and 1.6 AUTO in particular will be more than welcome.

I need to make up my mind in a couple of days

    Thanks in advance...

man 1.6L Automatic Liana is also Imported i think coz they only assemble 1.3L ones here

if i was u i would opt for Swift
primarily because ur gonna be running it one Petrol and Swift has very good fuel average compared to 1.6Liana

Plus point of Liana in comparison to Swift is its a Sedan with Trunk and ample space in rear seat for passengers

You didn't mention the most important factor in buying cars in Pakistan - resale.

How much are you expecting to get for it 4 years down the line? Because if you buy a 5 years old corolla, you'll probably get each an every penny spent on it returned. In this case, I'm pretty sure the depreciation will be more than 40 percent.
A Post-Wh0re is a user who's only aim in life is to increase his post count. He/she gets off by receiving likes and mentions, and considers his post count a medal on his skinny chest. A post-Wh0re is the human equivalent of Chihuahua..bickering pointlessly, effortlessly, permanently.

This time resale is not a top priority. I need peace of mind and some financial savings in terms of price.

Fuel economy is also not a big concern.

If thats the case, U should Jump on it.
I have Used the Liana Eminent 1.6 auto for 2 years. no problems in the car whatsoever. people who have no idea about modern cars and take their cars to roadside mechanics say liana was a bad car may be it was on CNg. Drove the car for 2 years on petrol its perfect.

see the same people like swift which has the engine (YES SAME) as the liana 1.3. and now they say the engine of swift is very good when they disliked liana's engine.

    Some pros:

The car has great pick up, very comfortable seats (bigger than swift), much better than new city, the driving position of new city Sucks.
U get all value for your money
    1.6 L petrol
    Auto Transmission
DVD screen with gr8 quality audio system from Sony
15" alloys and Good Bridgestone turanza tyres.(even the spare is a bridgestone)
    A larger car with trunk
Good soft suspension and comfy ride
    Fog lights
ABS BA EBD (very Important to me) and the brakes are very nice trust me
The car is Euro 2 (has 2 Cats)
Great pick up and performance, minimal body roll (less than a civic trust me!!)

    Some Figures:
    Fuel economy
8-9 km/l in city (with ac) depending upon ur driving style.
12-13 km/l Highway ( and I have been speeding like 150-160 in it and it gave me that economy everytime)

    Some Cons:
    Low Resale
    Expensive spares

Just go for it if resale is not an issue, its a brilliant car don't listen to people who say its not good.

Since resale is not an issue and you drive on motorway and highways too I think 1.6 Liana will be a good decision.

If the car is in good condition it will not give you any problem on petrol. All depends on the condition of the car.

Swift is also a good option but it will be a small car but it will give you peace of mind since it will be new and you can take good care of it and it will never give you problem in next 4-5 years.
In this range you can also consider Lancer

About 1.3 Liana the biggest problems were with CNG especially with its SIS kit, so if you want to drive on petrol than no major issues other than noise from chassis ( typical kharakna of Suzuki ). The other point as someone just mentioned is the poor resale.

Getting a new Liana, driving on petrol, properly maintained under 100K kms is OK.

    Go for it.
It's great for frequent long trips.

It's auto so you won't have any problem driving and in addition it's 1.6 so it provide's power and don't be surprised when you smoke some new city's,corollas,swifts,etc...

Swift is 1.3 and Liana's 1.6,So go for it

thanks for your detalied reply bro. Very encouraging indeed. My top priority in every purchase I make is value for money. Don't see that happening in the extremely over priced GLi anymore. some might say 'grapes are sour' and stuff
let's hear from others as well

    @Dogarz
There is not a single car in Pakistan at this moment which matches the great value for money offered by Liana 1.6 auto.

wait a min....is it a brand new car ur getting? If yes then thers no better choice to be availed in zero meter cars if resale is not ur issue. Best points abt it are

    1) Awesome engine.....i know a 2004 surf owner who came in fuming after a motorway trip from isb to pesh....sad his limiter stopped at 175kph while a liana zoomed by, not as if its a good thing to do this but just letting u know how strong that power plant is.

    2) The best air conditioner in smaller sedans.....it literally chills the hell out of u.

    3) a company fitted DVD screen.....its costs in the region of 40k alone just to get that dvd screen if ur getting it in the market.

    4) company fitted Keyless entry and Immobilizer.

    5) a whole big trunk

I used Liana 1.6 Eminent. Dude, no comparision with this car. I would strongly recomend to buy this. THE BEST CAR IN THIS PRICE. I used Eminent on petrol it was bullet. As you mentioned fuel is not an issue. That was the only issue in my view its little heavy on fuel. But worth buying. When you would press O/D you will feel roaring sound of Engine and pick even at 140 Km speed.
