    Default Liana RXI-CNG Test Drive

I would like to have a test drive of Liana CNG before I buy it. Any possibility that some member got one?

In Karachi the Suzuki dealers are offering test drives but Islamabad being dead as a cementary craves for such a thing. Anyway....would appreciate some help on this front.

My contention of selling XLi and buying Liana is not only based on fuel economics it is also to do with commonality that corolla has acquired after 9/11 fund flow from USA. From challi wala to property wala everyone has one Corolla with black ribbons hanging from the tie rod ends. I would like to hang myself from that ribbon.

@ Akbar. I have not followed the asd123 thread therefore don't know the contents. Anyway, after driving city, civic, baleno, I find XLi (not SE Saloon or Altis) highly unstable. Not sure will I be able to brake when I need it.

As regards Alto. The blue one is under selling process. One person has shown his inclination of leasing it thru Orix or Faysal bank. I have no problem with that. Hopefully the deal would be done within this week.

@ Hash4u. One og my colleagues will be getting his CNG Liana next week (probably) I will inform you for a MINI meet of the car.

If somehow this mail could be forwarded to Chairman Pak Suzuki he would at least know the ground realities that we are being deprived of our basic right of test drive by his company. All civilized countries do that.

@ Akbar. Yes I am sticking to the Maroon alto for the time being. will see subsequent to budget (5th June at 5 pm, National Assembly) speech by State Minister Omar Ayub. World bank has recommened duty reduction in cars.

@ Commander sahib. I will inform you when I succeed in the mission.

Switching your 2005 Corolla with a Liana ? No way!

I am a great fan of Suzuki and have owned Suzuki cars for more than 20 years. But recently I purchased a Liana RXi (petrol).
For some reason, sometimes the car just doen't start. Sometimes, while on the road, it just stalls and the engine shuts itself off. Sometimes, in idle position, the car shuts itself off. The fuel average is around 7kms/litre.
I have taken the car to Suzuki dealership twice, and they are unable to resolve the problem.

So for me the Liana experience has been one of frustration.

Today again I went to the dealership and asked them to check the car again, specifically the fuel pump and fuel filter.
Tomorrow, they will come and tow away the car.

Liana has an amazing drive, smooth, excellent road grip. Built quality and finish is superb - hard to believe that PakSuzuki can come up with this! But, alas, it is afterall PAKSUZUKI, so expect any thing.

@ hashemyk. I could term your Liana experience as typical Pak assembled teething problem. Nothnig to be alarmed at, for me at least. Your problem relates to mal-functioning of ECU. Air-fuel mixture too rich. 7 km average is also an indication of the same.

I have had several bad experiences with brand new Corollas, Civics, Citys, Balenos, Altos and Kia Classics. Instead of brooding, I simply took them to my local mechanic (instead of dealerships) who took care of the problems much better than the authorised dealers.

You have yourself "vindicated" Liana by enumerating its virtues. I beleive it would be a matter of time before it gains immence popularity leading to its price hike by 5 to 10%. Only then shall we turn to it.

In an interview Rao Rashid, a PPP leader & former IG Police said about Benazir. " She inherited all the vices of her father but none of his virtues". Perhaps Suzuki ppl are trying to make us beleive that this does not hold true for Baleno-Liana legacy.

XLi and GLi versions have badly performed because Toyota Indus, just for a few pennies more, refused to install ABS.
