    Default Liana V Xli(Engine Specs)

The Liana produces 66KW@88BHP, while the XLi produces 60KW@84BHP! Liana gives 116Nm of Torque as opposed to 119Nm with the 2NZ-FE! Since torque is the main running force of the car(not the BHP), so much for suzuki technology! 66KW of sh*t!

there is a difference of only 3 N-m in torque. whereas the weight of Liana will be approximately 100 kg less than Xli. So in fuel economy and pick-up Liana must be better than XLi. What u say Dear GLI?

@muneerahmad, "dear", amid the fact that the liana is 100kg lighter than the corolla(which I highly doubt), on that assumption, let me proceed with the fact that the 2NZ-FE produces more torque at lower rpm's than the liana does! And suzuki engines are no comparsion with those of toyota's!

    Hello!
    simple hai yaar

    Liana's M13A...
    Max HP's=66KW @ 5750 RPM..
    Max Torque=116Nm@4750RPM....

    Corolla's 2NZ-FE
    Max HP's=60KW @ 6000 RPM
    Max Torque=119Nm@4400RPM

Corolla's Load bearing capability was better than that Liana but Liana's M13A buts on much power than Corolla on low RPms......
but make sure than which is Twin Cam and which is SOHC........
i think both cars got it own capabilities....no doubt Liana CNG Injection Type setup was awsome and engine runs awsome on that.....

This is wat i found somewhere on net.. seems interesting as swift and liana engines are same:

The Swift's engine is a new aluminum, DOHC, 16-valve, naturally aspirated, fuel-injected inline four-cylinder unit designated M13A. It obtains a total displacement of 1328 cm3 with over-square internal dimensions of 78.0-mm (3.07-in) bore and 69.5-mm (2.77-in) stroke. The cylinder block is aluminum into which semi-wet cast iron liners are pressed, as consistent with the Suzuki aluminum block construction practice. The cylinder bore is machined with a dummy head bolted on. The block is a deep-skirt design, with two additional bolts securing each of three center bearing caps. The forged steel crankshaft is fully balanced with eight weights. Dual overhead camshafts are driven by a single-stage silent chain of 8.0-mm (0.3-in) pitch, and in turn act on four valves per cylinder via bucket-type tappets, with clearance adjustment achieved by a shim inserted atop the tappet. The intake camshaft is fitted with a vane-type VVT-i continuously variable timing device, which alters timing within a range of 60°.

    @GLI

    Liana RXi - 66/5750,116/4750
    Corolla XLi - 60/6000,119/4400

Liana is slight better over the HP Figure while Corolla is slight better over torque but the difference is negligible.

GLI stop being such a fan boy gettin offended on BOLD and CAPITAL letters? sheesh chill out dude

difference in torque is neglible as someone already mentioned and so is difference in hp, do you seriously think that a normal buyer actually care enough to dig into torque and hp figures when buying a car ? DOH !!!!! NO a normal person would look for following

    • Price
      /li
    • Reliability
      /li
    • Features
      /li
    • Performance ( in normal language fuel average and performance on CNG ... wakeup NEO in real world petrol cost money DOH!!!! )
      /li
    • Parts
      /li

but if you still insist on bashing a brand based on difference of negligible figures than be my guest

I agree it's more of a personal taste issue. Personally i'd just take a used civic (EK6 or EK9) over either of these cars. but that's just me. Other peopel have different tastes. So please guys stop trying to win a battle which you can't.

@GLI likes the corolla, others don't. let him have his opinions and you all keep yours. Both cars are (in theory)great for what they were built for (economic transport) but their prices are unrealistic, hence defeating their purpose in the first place.

    Easy
    1. A car is only worth what someone is willing to pay for it, 2. Resale wont save your life in an accident, 3. Genius has limits, stupidity has none, 4. Never argue with an idiot, they will bring you down to their level & beat you with experience, 5. Growing old beats the alternative -- dying young! 6. انّا للہ و انّا الیہ راجعون
