A client at my mechanics workshop just replaced whole suspension with a new one over his 2006 RXI with a Chinese brand, it costed him under 15K and the car was "really" fine in driving, so I was speaking over this regard.
When my mechanic told me the prices I was kind of astonished also and was telling keh it would not give a good drive in this much amount. But the job went pretty fine and the car is still running pretty fine and noiseless. So if you are short on cash then still LIANA is not a very expensive car to maintain :-)

I once used Chinese excels CV joints for my previous Cultus, my mechanic suggested me to use them instead of the higher priced ones. I bought the set for Rs 1800, the original ones were costing Rs 5200 at that time. Believe me it worked really fine and is still working as like perfect after more than 1 year (as I sold mine to my office friend sitting back to me).
Cvs are a different story, aaa qaulity chinese cv joints last about 2 years easily if car runs mainly on neat roads .

@Skill! Thank you very much for the tips. And sorry the line dropped because the cellphone battery is dead

Regarding the outer cv joints. I did went around both Islamabad and Pindi. Only 1 Japanese brand - HKD - is available in both the cities that too in a just a few shops (Price range in Islamabad for this brand was Rs. 7,400 - 8,200 and in Rawalpindi the same was from Rs. 6,300 to 6,800). But God knows are these really Japanese or Made AS Japan, Lalamusa

NKN as suggested by you and a few other friends from Pakwheels was no where to be found in both the cities. Only one shop in Pindi told me that he can get it for me, and the price he said is Rs, 8400 for the pair.

All sort of other Chinese brand were like from 1,600 to 2,600 (A few suggested Sherry - allegedly a Korean brand - but I was not able to digest the name Sherry that well, so left that )

Now I will be spending Saturday or Sunday (depending on the weather....it gonna rain here) at some local workshop and get these replaced and will update you all after that.

Here is the pic of the HDK (Source: Google.com)

If the sound comes while turning then it's outer cv joint and if the sound comes while driving straight the culprit would be inner one. Outer pair cost u around 1800-2500(Chinese) 6500-7000(japenese). Don't have idea about cost of inner one.

Which shell model? Specs? Zic A would be appropriate if found original. Btw I am using kixx G1 10w-40 and a satisfied user since last 3.5 years

Well the cost of the pair of the cv joints was Rs. 6,300, paid Rs. 300 for the lathe work (kharadia) and another Rs. 500 for taking out and putting back both the axles.
