you get serviced by a toyota showroom and sign off a waiver when recieving the car, have you ever read what that waiver mentions?

your showroom can pour nlgi00 grease down the engine and hand your car back, that does not mean toyota recommend nlgi00 grease in the engine.

i think 10/40 and 20/50 doesnt have much difference in terms of thickness. is it correct?

10w-40 is so thin that it can be used in any hydraulic oil application 20w-50 on the other hand is quite thick it made my cg 125 front fork hard as rock

there is a lot of difference in the viscosities in both cold and hot state of both oils. any oil to be qualified at SAE 50 rating should have a hot viscosity of about 19 cst, a hot 30 should be at 11 cst.

if you are using a 20W50 oil in your engine which was specced for a 30 hot viscosity, you are essentially running an oil twice as thick - which means loss of engine performance, high shear going on while pumping, loss of volume of oil to engine parts and laggy working of the VVT variator (if equipped)

can you buy an API SL (or higher) 5W30 or 10W30? - something like a synthetic blend is preffered.

does your engine run at normal operating temperature? or are you in the d'rect pankha and no thermashate group?

What do you guys suggest? To me it seems to be the top seal that is leaking since there is no leak from gaskets on either side. In order to fix this, am I supposed to disassemble the entire transaxle assembly or just the top part? Need advice from experts before i dive into this.
Guys I need a response too please

its the selector shaft seal - are you sure the gearbox is not overfilled? and is the breather vent not clogged? The only time I saw such a leakage was on a suzuki mehran gearbox and its breather vent (which is near the shock tower) was blocked with grease/dirt.

good stuff, but what about other brands like caltex, shell, mobil etc? - Last I remember ZIC used to be higher cost for no good reason.

Can you guide me a bit more in detail regarding how to go about it? And even if the transmission has been overfilled, should it be leaking from the top? I'll drain the oil tomorrow and re-fill with exact 2 litres. I guess it could have been overfilled since I didn't jack the car from the back side in order to take all the oil out before starting to refill it. This is something that I saw on youtube AFTER I had finished with this job.

Btw here is a dailymotion version for those who can't see. http://www.dailymotion.com/video/x3fclx6

I don't know where exactly is the breather pipe of transmission. A little help in identifying that would be great.
