I'm back after Eid Had a scary little incident on the second night of Eid. I cleaned the engine bay after a long time during the day and went for dinner with family at night. On my way back, the car started missing badly; I could feel that one of the cylinders was not firing properly.

By the time I reached home, the missing had reduced quite a bit. I decided to tackle the issue next morning. Next day, I started the car and the same issue! I got down and cleaned the whole ignition system and the plugs as well; gapping and all. Started the car and the issue was still there although reduced much. I was really frustrated by that time and was thinking that it must be one of the dreaded coils. I didn't know what to do, so just swapped the coils from left to right and voila! problem solved.

Any thoughts on what the issue could have been? My guess is the high tension wires; moisture must have gotten into one of the connectors.

some times three little wires on the coil's grip get loose during working in the engine bay like washing, get the grip out and see the wires.

Just like the restart function of windows
I think as the ground connection was also disconnected the coils got a reset. Dust and water can conduct when not needed. But now as it is good you can enjoy your drives.

@^ I am assuming you have a FF CNG. If yes it can be one of the CNG injectors as well...

That was my first suspicion and I cleaned those with alcohol but it didn't work. I guess there was moisture in one of the high tension wire cups.

True! I even cleaned the fuel injector connectors although it was a b***h to get to those. I feel that it might have been one of those connectors as well.

welcome to the club.Post the pictures asap.
Average on petrol with A/C is about 13 to 15 km and with out A/C goes to max 17.
Average on cng for a 60 liter cylinder goes to 220+ with soft foot around 2k rpm and about 170 with above 3k rpm all the way.
