    Default Liana 2006 jerking

    Salam,
I am new to this forum. I own a 2006 Liana, no CNG. It has done 65k so far. Two weeks back I noticed slight jerks while driving. Specially in second and third gears. I took it to the service center, got it tuned, new spark plugs, air cleaner, oil, oil filter etc. But the problem persisted. In fact the jerking increased. Today I took it to the service center again. After engine tune up the problem still persisted. The mechanic told me that coils are old and have developed short circuit since some water was found near them. I was amazed since I never wash its engine. Anyway he put double tape near coils and told me to try it out. I did and there was considerable improvement. But the slight jerking is still there. I need your kind advice. What to do? It is really coils problem? Should I get new coils? They are for 26k!!! I thought it could be fuel filter problem. But he said no. Please help out. Thanks

    a very common problem
one of the many reasons the car failed
replace the weak/damage coil only.i am sure they are quoting 26k for the whole set
Life is short and very unpredictable just like a Quarter mile .....

@aamirq , thanks for replying. I will get them checked.
@ hash4u, do you suggest getting injectors checked first and then getting coils replaced?
    Thank you gentlemen.

Thanks engineer_shazz. I had a talk with the mechanic and he told me to carry on with the present set of coils. I was worried because I don't want the car to give me problems when I am traveling anywhere. He told me not to worry, it won't stop "band nahe hogi". Still I am not satisfied.

Same happened to me back in 2010, at that time i had Hyundai Santro Gv 2006 model, i went through the whole process of tuning and changing each and every thing and in the end the main culprit was Coils, which costed Rs.3500 at that time, i think you have found the culprit, that means half of the problem is gone, now if you can find any reliable electrician or mechanic who can repair the coils then it will be good enough because here there are many really skilled people around because Rs 26K for coils are way too much.

you can go for chinese coils they cost around 4-7k a set.
or try finding used coils from scrap market pulled from an engine.

Apologies for re-starting a dead thread. But I want to share my experience. I saw an ad on Pakwheels, a gentleman was selling Liana coils (original). I went to meet him and that angel took me to a workshop run by an expert named Mr Tariq Malik (Uncle). The man and his team plugged some HiFi kind of Bluetooth under the steering and hooked it up with a Samsung Tab running some special software. In 30 minutes and Rs 1500 the team completely removed the jerking problem. Now my car is running smooth. Thanks to the angel for taking me there. I am not going to Suzuki Motors again! Just wanted to share my experience. Regards
