Do not use any GL graded gear oil in your Honda, Your honda trans gears run on roller needle bearings which cannot be lubricated by oil as thick as 75W90 - you need to use at engine rated oil.
I am running a Honda Accord since I dont know when - its gone past 300,000 kms without problems in the trans
I use Caltex Delo 500 (15w40) known as Delo Gold in the transmission, it doesnt foam up and the gears shift smooth as silk and I get no whine at all. your civic would need about 2.5 litres of it - just drain and refill - then change every 2 years or 25,000 kms whichever comes first.
Every Honda with manual trans coming into ZRS gets a tranny fluid change, due to this very fact that numbskull mechanics have filled it with "GEAR OIL" - every customer can literally feel their trans actually shifting smoother and their cars accelerating better
