1. remove the top of the carburettor & check for clogged jets (slow, main, primary, secondary). compressed air will do the job.<o:p></o:p>
2. check the float level and needle-valve for its proper seating.<o:p></o:p>
3. replace the fuel-filter.<o:p></o:p>
4. check the fuel-pump for its proper function. <o:p></o:p>
5. check the return fuel line from the carb to the fuel tank for any blockages.<o:p></o:p>
6. drain, flush & clean the fuel-tank by removing it.<o:p></o:p>
7. check the cng cut-off solenoid valve if it is cutting off gas completely when switched to petrol.<o:p></o:p>
8. since it has over 100,000 km on it, open up the distributor and clean oxide off the rotor tip/head & three (3) silver distribution points. also inspect the spring loaded carbon button as well. lubricate the governor springs and check the advance mechanism.<o:p></o:p>
on 2003 cultus, there are no fuel injectors and comes with hydraulic valve-lifters, so no need to go in this direction.
