removing and installing an automatic transmission is way easier than installing a manual one. You just line up the transmission and bolt the engine to it, then bolt the torque converter to the drive plate, connect the cooler lines, connect the wiring, fill it up and start the engine.
Anyone who has a workshop with sufficient tools and an engine lift/hoist can do it. You can also remove it from the bottom which is easier with a cradle on a jack.
word of freindly advice - when you plan to do this - get the torque converter mounting bolts brand new from a Honda showroom or spare parts shop - at first they will shoo you away because its a weird request but insist that you want new genuine ones, They are the same on the older civics too - reason for it is that they are torque to yield bolts and reusing them may break them while the engine is running. Always use torque ratchet to install those bolts.
