Here there guys...
My car's heater hasnt been heating the air for quite a while now. I looked into the issue and found out that there are only two things that can be causing it. One is thermostat valve stuck open and the other is a clogged radiator core. I am convinced that its the latter one as the car is now 8 years old. Its a Honda City Idsi.
The mechanic says I have to get the whole (or much) of the dashboard take off to reach the radiator core and then have it cleaned. This gives me chills!! I don't want to get whole or much of the dashboard taken off.
I believe there are ways to clean the core without taking it out. Infact the mechanic said that the cores in other cars can be flushed using acid but this particular model had one made out of silver and the acid would eat it away. I was thinking along the same lines. What if we use diluted acid? Bleach or something? Can i do a DIY??
I ve seen this video from EricTheCarGuy in which he flushes a core. It looks like i can manage such a job. Should i do it? can i use bleach? or some other product?
