Can anyone tell me the exact amount of r134a capacity in mehran ? Its usually mentioned under the hood. I have a Suzuki fx which does not have any indication of the charge capacity of a refrigerant. R134a is a bad joke, it is not efficient, requires bigger multi flow condenser and takes a lot of horsepower. I remember in the 90's when r12 was used in the cars, my car never had any overheating issues and then we were forced to switch to this pathetic refrigerant.
Anyway, I am planning to go with hydrocarbon refrigerant, a mixture of propane and isobutane. I know its flammable and stuff but what would few grams could possibly do? I have already devised a plan for safety, will install several gas detector under the hood and some around the evaporator, these gas leak sensors are easily available in the market, I am not talking about those expensive gadgets, its like a DIY sensors which hooks up to a audrino and other microcontrollers. I'm willing to take my chances and even if there was a leak and at the same time there is an spark, which is highly unlikely, you will only get a spark.
All I am asking is to open your mehran's hood and see the label of refrigerant and tell me the values. If you have a serpentine condenser then it would be good. Fx has same dimensions as of mehran.
Thanks in advance!
