@Rocketman. It was a Khyber and I feel guilty that I ruined that nice car but gassing it. For about six months it ran fine and gave me 200kms on 50kg cyl. But then it's average dropped to 130 kms. It used to start on petrol, no matter how cold the weather was, there was no missing also, but the glitches started bothering me too much.
1- For isntance the kit needed constant adjustment. The mechs told me to get an injector type input, so did away with the ventury and drilled a hole in carb. It lasted for a couple of momth and then again.
2- Secondly aircleaner box rubbers were damaged.
3- Spark plug wires had to be replaced thrice and they leaked current. Same cables worked ok on petrol.
4- Put Boch four or three tips plugs, did improve the ride a little.
5- Engine vibrations on CNG would not go.
6- Queues at CNG stations became longer
7- CNG stations cheating a lot on gas
8- The drive was no longer comfortable
9- It used to eat more petrol, if tunned well on CNG
10- Had to replace battery every year. Now on petrol the battery is doing well after 2.4 years.
No trunk space
With CNG could not climb up hills
14- Had to get space, replace rear shocks as it would hit its belly on little bumps.
And several other irritants. Now you would say these problems and issues can be sloved. I agree, but when you are 40, these small probolems look like a big monsters to you and one needs a little rest in life.
Petrol gives me comfort and peace of mind and saves me from all those glitches which are sure to be developed in CNG converted cars. Plus there is no match of driving on petrol than driving on any CNG kit in the world.
