I had been using this alternative fuel for the last 6 yrs, and there had been no trouble, whatsoever. The only requirement is ur knowledge about the general maintenance and minor adjustment like idle and mixture etc. I agree that an engine designed and manufactured for gasoline may not perform at its optimum on CNG, but still one has to strike a balance between driving pleasure and pocket economy.
Coming to the point, once thing that i have kept looking for is the increase in the capacity of the CNG tank to increase the cruising range (the distance a vehicle can go with one refill). It bothers people like me and so many others to stop over at a filling station and wait in que for a refill that will again quash in 100-200 km, (depending on vehicle and driving habits / conditions) Whereas a gas tank lasts for at least 500 km or so. This thing has also made me think that maybe my next vehicle should be a diesel one.
So asking @all in general and @logas in particular (due to the field under discussion being his speciality) that :-
What could be the available options to increase in cruising range, without a compromise on weight increase and space availabilty..
What if someone is ready to sacrifice his trunk space but is stuck with the increased weight of the cylinders..
How about the use of those bottle type containers as used in santro, but are they available in open market or one has to steal a couple of santros to get them..
Anyways, thanks for ur time, and u may contribute if u like..
