    Default Mehran Servo (booster) brakes

    Salam All

I am new to PakWheels. Will be glad to see helpfull replies.

Booster of my mehran's brake is not working. What can be the possible causes and how can it be fixed. I bought this second hand 2004-Mehran some time back.

Any one knows from where I may get the new servo booster, in case I need to replace the existing one, and address/location of a skilled mechanic in karachi who does the servo installation job perfectly?

    Thanks & Regards

    Really, appreciate your replies friends

Yes, mehran does not come with booster brakes but as per my information booster of some other car can be installed in mehran to give the brakes extra power.

Previous owner had it altered by installing servo (brake booster). I am living in F. B. Area Block 13. The mehran is 2004 VXR having FF/AC and Landi Renzo CNG. Bought it for 310K +.

The Mehran's brakes lock up quite easily without the servo assist ("booster"). I'd STRONGLY advise against an upgrade on the braking system. If you're worried about lacklustre performance, purge the whole system, have the pads replaced if necessary, inspect that there are no sticking slave cylinders or calipers, check that all rubber hoses are not cracked and check for leaks in the system.

    Hope this helps!

    Dear Dr Tanveer
Thanks for your reply sir. It is very helpful. Just want to know, if one has to press the mehran's brake paddle with a force of 10, on a scale of 1 to 10, then how mush force one needs to apply after the servo booster is installed to achieve same braking as before?

    Dear MFJ75

If u can imagine the brakes force to normal mehran is 10 than with booster it will be in b/w 2 to 3. I got a knee pain by pressing the brakes all the way in trafic jams. but now I am in heaven. Really i feel a great difference.

I agree with you sami voodoo but the booster could be installed to reduce the effort of applying brakes. Ladies in particular have a hard time locking up the brakes in a Mehran. It feels like ur driving sa Bedford truck.

Hmmm... It seems that my squats have paid off... Maybe it's a personal choice, I like brakes that give a bit of feedback. I've been brought up on a 4x4 and everytime I'm driving a saloon car, my braking has people flying through the windshield...

i am planning to have servo in mehran and i am bit confused in this regards and will need opinion of the mehran owners who have servo brakes installed,

i would like to know how do you feel braking after servo installation, does braking really improves or its just the feel of the paddle that changes, i fear i will lock brakes and car will skid bumping into someone considering the car mass and its new braking capabilites with narrow tyres???

how reliable the swap/alteration will be, any failures chances??

will it be kinda bolt on addition or metal will feel the heat of work??
