    Default MEHRAN PROBLEM

I HAVE MEHRAN 2007. Recently I shifted to bahawalnagar where no CNG is available and i had to shift to petrol. Problem is that at times there is smell of petrol inside car and at times no smell. There is no leakage of petrol anywhere. Does it have to do something with race or timing of engine

in an ordinary case: when u switch from cng to petrol...it gives a little bit of smell (of petrol)..but then it finishes.....but sumtimes (rather rarely) u smell petrol like while driving for about 10 15 mins or more

in ur case i dont think ther is any problem..

I was facing the same problem with my mehran. this happens because of a poorly tuned engine. since u hav shifted to petrol get ur car properly tuned on petrol also if the problem still doesnt go away then check gas outlet pipe in ur petrol tank. the pipe is there to ease any pressure build-up inside the petrol tank due to petrol vapours. if the pipe is choked then those vapours tend to b released inside the cabin. hope it helps.

yar i think i also face the same problem at the time of refuelling, maybe it's coz of loose joints of petrol pipes, and they pass from inside of the car (boot side panel)........

It mostly happens to the cars that mostly run on CNG. and then especially this problem is associated to mehran. @devilz_apprentice has described the reason to that. beside this bad fuel and air mixture can also be the culprit so u have to tune it back to petrol
