Default Rpm Meter Needle Vibrating wildly(Mehran)

    Salam to all.
2 months back i bought a new mehran driven 300km till now.
Recently i installed rpm meter in my mehran.Problem is that when i start the car its needle vibrates wildly.and it doesnt show correct reading either.on idling speed it jumps between 3000 to 4-4500.electricion told me that the car is in running to thats why it is showing that reading.after first check up it will be normal.so i wanna ask is he telling the truth ya apni jan churany k lye bola h.also tell me how to fix this problem.waiting for ur reply.thanx in advance.

I believe the RPM meter in mehran works by getting a signal from the ignition. If the engine is running smooth then there is an issue with the meter.3-4.5k is very high reading for idle.
Qaiser Pal,I have not failed. But found 1 of 10,000 ways which doesn't work.....Toyota driver "I couldn't repair my brakes,so i made my horn louder"..When i was born i was so surprised that i didn't talked to one and half year..since light travel faster then sound, people appear bright until you hear them speak..If u can't convince them, confuse them

chk cylinder settings (at back of RPM meter and set it to 3) , if the problem not solved by this , the meter is faulty.

    salaam all:

& even if you manage to get one from a local market having a port for 3-cylinder engine, its needle would still "hunt" to show a fluctuating reading.

try to get an original tacho-meter of any 3-cylinder vehicle (from a junk-yard), & your problem will be solved.
