Lightbulb Pls Help! Magnet / Point for Mehran

    Dear PW experts!

I have Mehran 2010 23,000 KM driven. I went to Suzuki for periodic maintenance and they suggested me to replace stock plugs and point. So as I did it. Point costed me 780 rupees from Suzuki. A frined of mine after hearing price of Point, he said man you could have been buy new magnet one (kabli wala) for 1500 rupees. I don't know what this magnet is named technically.

I want to ask from experts that

    1. should I replace point with some kabli one i.e. magnet when this point wears out? her dafa itnay paisay laganay say bahtar hay aik dafa ka kharcha kar lon? Is this replacement technically wise?
    2. Which magnet will be best for my car, pls suggest new or kabli with extimated price.
    3. What else I need to upgrade?
    Regards.

The breaker point system in Mehran can be replaced/upgraded with CDI system.
These days the only magnets being used are in locally assembeled motorbikes.
One of the most difficult things in the world is to know how to do something, and to watch without comment, somebody else do it incorrectly.

proper maintenance of the contact point with correct installation procedure will ensure a car that runs without problems. Dont just throw a point in the dizzy, the cam inside the dissy needs to be a certain clearance from the heel of the contact point arm - to ensure proper dwell angle and also proper ignition advance.

Do periodically check and lubricate the centrifugal advance mechanism - it ensures smooth linear advance that results in a smooth and quick accelerating engine

@wasay_ahmed and @xulfiqar thank you for your guidance but I am still looking for final solution. What I suppose is that distributor with magnet i.e. without point is called CDI system. Is it?
Please also tell me which car's CDI system will be good. some people says that kabli one of 660 cc Dihatsu or cultus will be ok. I want to upgrade this for once instead of giving 780 rupees after each 10-15 K mileage.

sir very humbly its stated that in distributors previously magnets were used.as mehran is cheaper car.its still using that technology.while rest of all cars are efi, using cdi system.since your car isnt efi you cant go for cdi.go for new piont based distribution box of coure (recomended).else cultus vxr dirtribution box would be okay t0.remember vxr n0t vxri cuz vxri is efi and has cdi.if u know how to check this distribution thing then go for kabli one.it will cost less price+originality guaranteed.u can get it easily from chah sultan of ahata mithu khan.for new partz u can go to gawal mandi either kayani autos or wasim autos.

thank you alee1. If I go for new piont based distribution box of coure (recomended). My car already have point based system. So replacing a point based with the point based of Coure is somewhat confusing. Is coure point based distributor is more efficient than mehran one ?
