    Zotye Auto has brought the Alto back in the business, equipped with a 0.8-liter engine, the Jiangnan Alto measures 3.3 meters long, 1.465 meters wide, and 1.41 meters high. The wheelbase of the vehicle is 2.175 meters. The old 3-cylinder isn't friendly for the environment so it is banned in many provinces and cities in China. The Jiangnan Alto will therefore only be on sale in the rural areas of Hunan, Hebei, Shaanxi, Sichuan, Shandong, Jilin, Shanxi and Henan provinces.

    Since the Alto does not meet Beijing's vehicle discharge standards, Zotye Auto is in the process of upgrading the vehicle to meet the capital's emission regulations. The whole series of Alto vehicles will be made available in the Beijing market at the same price as elsewhere.

    An insider at Zotye Auto said the vehicle is selling at a loss at present. The Alto series was previously produced by joint-venture enterprise Changan Suzuki, but Zotye has bought the whole vehicle intellectual property rights and it is now manufactured in Changsha, Hunan Province.

    The Jiangnan Alto cost only 18800rmb to 21800rmb (2.3 lac PKR to 2.7 lac PKR)

    Edit:
    Jiangnan have upgraded the TT engine to meet the Euro IV Emission standards, which qualifies it for the 3000yuan subsidy, which is about 39,300 PKR. This car in China will now cost equivalent to 1,93,700 PKR only..

    EFi, dashboard, and rear suspension are cool, Paksuzuki should make these changes in 2011 moron.

    If that Chinese version comes to Pakistan with right hand steering with a tag of around 200,000 to 225,000 it would be an instant hit. I hope as china broke the 70cc market monopoly, same happens with the 800cc one.

    Our mehran looks much better other then side mirrors and dash.
    Their mehran is better due to suspension change and efi engine.

    If Suzuki has sold its copyrights, then i dont think Paksuzuki and Maruti Suzuki have much right to manufacture it any more?


    The chinese cars Changhang were being imported previusly, the car which is in shape of the Japanese Suzuki Every van... As margalla is discontinued i dont see any harm in importing thoose and as the car margallas known here i guess if decently priced the chinese margalla is going to be a great car
    Get over the fact that Xli lacks power windows, Its an Xli because it lacks thoose features or else it would be a Gli or an Altis if had all the goodies.

    The cheapest car in China, he Jiangnan Alto got a new name and it is a good one: Jiangnan TT. The TT is based on the old-old Suzuki Alto, Jiangnan got a license from Suzuki so no copying here.

    Mehran tou zinda hay!!!! - jiangnan alto tt 2 458x416

    Jiangnan is a subsidiary from Zoyte Automobile which makes old Fiats under license. Price of the Jiangnan TT starts at 20.800 yuan (2.7 lac PKR) and ends at 25.800 yuan (3.3 lac PKR). Basic engine is a 0.8L three-cylinder with 36hp.

    Default Jiangnan TT hits back with a 17800yuan (2.33 lac PKR) price tag

    Jiangnan Auto are now owned by Zotye, but that hasn’t stopped them from continuing the production of the mk2 Suzuki Alto in China, as mentioned many times before, old cars do not go out of production in China, instead they linger on and still manage to make sales – not everyone is after the latest design or technology after all.

    The Alto was put into production by four different companies in the Chinese market in the late 90′s and early 2000′s, these companies of course being Chang’an Auto, Jiang Nan, Xi’an Tai and Sichuan Auto, these cars were respectively called the Chang’an Alto, Jiangbei Alto, Jiangnan Alto and the Tai Chuan Alto. Jiang Bei Alto went bankrupt due to huge loses, Tai Chuan Alto went onto produce the Flyer which of course later became the first BYD factory, leaving just Chang’an Alto and Jiangnan Alto, later Jiangnan fell under Zotye’s ownership.

    Interestingly, the Jiangnan Alto went out production for a few years but now it is back with an uprated engine that meets Chinese5 (Euro IV) emission standards, meaning it can be sold in nearly all Chinese cities now.

    The Alto is priced from 17,8000rmb (2.33 lac PKR) making it officially the cheapest car in China, but you don’t get much for your money. In fact the Alto is rather bare-bones with it barely classifying as an automobile. Under the hood you can find an 800cc engine which produces 36bhp according to one source, enough to get you around town, just avoid the hills.
