    Default Strange problem Mehran

I purchased a new mehran earlier this month. Its 2008 VX FF cng at the time it was well tuned on gas, but very badly tuned on petrol i.e the car turned off as soon as accelerator was released. I went for tuning to sethi motors on 9.3.2011. They did the tuning changed plugs, point distributor and air filter. The car was running good pick was good but there was a strange problem and it occured only 1/10 times. When the car is switched off on petrol it does not go off suddenly but after 1 or 2 jerks but it does not happen continuously so went back to them and could not show them the problem because of its remote occuring but they did some settings and reduced the petrol flow and race. Now the car is running smoothly on both petrol and gas but the problem persists. I have changed gear oil and engine oil also my car is running very cold heat guage remains below 40%. Could you guys please help me and tell what is the problem with my car I am really worried. It is giving me around 75 KM on one cylinder having 5.5 kg of gas in city on very busy roads, I also start it on petrol is the average good or bad. If I slightly lower the gas flow averaged rises to 85 km but pick is pathetic.

this is because the ignition time has been advanced by the tuner....its perfectly normal...dont waste your money and energy on it....it's not mehran specific ...it's not even a problem..this may happen to any car which is based on manual timing adjustments (i-e distributor).

The Lag in shut down is only for cab'rtor cars, as CNG need current advanced via distrbutor, so when user shut down the engine it bumps couple of times before coming to halt. - possible cure is using / installing auto advancer if it is too much of bothering.

Your CNG consumption is high i think it should be giving you way 100km per cylinder in city. Atuned CNG kit should give you good pick with economy. Generaly timing for cng cars without advancer is 20 degrees give or take a few. Tappit are set on a gap of 25, roughly, plugs on 70-80. The reason for delayed shut down on petrol is probably due to wrong timing or wrong tappit gap.

For Cng optimum consumption if tuning doesn't work get your kit serviced

mileage depends on where you drive your car. I live in samanabad and it takes me 15 minutes to get out of samanabad i.e 3 kms and only in 1&2 gears not even 3 gear samanabad is too crowdy. Also my 40 L cylinder never fills 6kg gas it only fills 5.5 kgs so thats why i am getting low mileage bacause gas pressure is again around 185-195 in samanabad these days. My bolan also gave me 90kms in one 55 l cylinder in samanabad with 8 kgs of gas. But on long i used to get 160kms and on one occassion while returning from islamabad on M2 I managed to reached BHERA on gas that i got filled on Kashmir Chowk shell pump that 195 kms so gas mileage depends on totally where you drive your car
