Thread: mehran 95 heat up

    Default mehran 95 heat up

    today faced heat up problem while struggling in jam traffic here in quetta probly of 1 hour, i felt at that time that mty car is heating up when needle crosses half then car suddenly turns off with vibration. and not starting again in the mean time i wait for 10 min then car starts smoothly but after 2 min again turns off.

    thanks GOD i found garage nearer to my car the mechanic checked and said car heats up let it cool down ,and after 30 min we open radiator cap thr is no water then we found there is leakage from stopper of heater mechanic fixed it and car started well no problem now,but some questions arises in my mind that i over hauled car 2 months ago

    can this heat up weaken my engine if yes than how many %??????and what it make worst inside engine??

    direct fan. no valve clear radiator but still needle reaches 40% why??


    plz experts contribute iam tension

    dear

    change engine oil immedialty and if the car is older, check the water in radiater continously.

    make your practice to check the engine oli as well,

    As far as fan matter either the fan is auto or direct, the guage rises and this is not problem

    do check water in radiator frequently ..

    and observe temp needle for some days if it stays at normal position then ... just drive it .. ur car is fine

    did u ever get ur car radiator serviced ?? if not then do it too .. just for the safe side ..
    use collant and observe any more leakage to avoid this in future ..

    1. Yes regular heat up can damage ur engine .. minimum damage = gasket failure... maximum = engine head melt down ..

    2. yes mostly ppls do these type of things i mean direct fan no valve ... however its not good in cold areas .. works well in cities like khi, lhr ..

    i would say keep ur fan automatic, keep value .. this will keep ur fan life longer ... and ur engine works on optimum tempreature result .. good milage and good drive with good engine life ..

    no man relax nothing happened your engine is not seized just lil bit over heating wont destroy your engine. do u feel any loss of power after that?
    Your grandchildren will likely find it incredible - or even sinful - that you burned up a gallon of gasoline to fetch a pack of cigarettes!

    It would be beneficial to do a cooling system flush on your car, it will remove most scale and rust from the system and will also make holes in any weak points GOOD as you dont want to rely on rust and flakes to carry you somewhere. Replace necessary parts like the metal cooling pipe going to the water pump. It usually chokes up and forces water/coolant to circulate in the engine and not the radiator causing heat ups.

    Once everything is clean and verifyably good with new parts like a thermostat and radiator cap, fill with distilled water/coolant and live in peace.

    Sir,Change your vehicle's Gasket.I was having the same problem with my Mehran and the Mechanic told me that I had gotten it changed At the right time or else it may have had burned my car's engine.I cannot guarantee this statement.

    Though It doesnt cost much..Around 500rs.

    Cool My story!!!

    Ok brother....
    Old cars are a night mare...if they work fine its oka...
    If not then continous tension....
    My fx (ma father purchased in 85 for 64 k then handed over 2 me when he purchased baleno in 2005) also used to heat up...
    I burnt up 4 gas kits....temp.gauage used 2 show 75% height then gas kit fishoon!!!
    I changed gas kits rom lahore ranging from 1000 to 1500 k....@least 4 times...
    Then once again head gas kit problem was there on my way from kharian to lahore.
    After a lot of khawari, i was able to bring my vehicle to a mechanic javeed shah @ gujranwala city...
    We had to make arrangement for night stay there while javeed shah went for gas kit changing on that foggy december night...
    He discovered that a small pipe(mainly they r two) is sealed off that throws water on the head for cooling purpose...
    It was tried to be opened but changed after failure 2 do so....
    Since then i have driven 25000 km & alhamdolillah my fx has not caused any gas kit problem since then!!
    Purpose of narrating the whole story is when ever temperature hike?heatup is there , try to find out the root cause!!
    Otherwise changing gas kits is not the solution to the problem!!!

    Things u ned 2 carry out!!!
    1. Change ur engine oil...sorry cars engine oil ,makes no difference u changed it on the day when heatup problem was there!!
    2. Keep an eye on the water level in radiator & wter reservior @least once a day!!!
    3. Engine performs to its full efficiency when temp. Guages's needle is at almost 25%....in any case it should be well below 80/85 % & red hot!!

    as I said - cooling galleries are rusted - and the pipe at the back of the engine usually blocks more than 80% cutting off flow of coolant to the radiator

    and why i chang oil iam student cant afford now hahahhahhah is it necessary???

    one thing i want to mention here my mechanic blocked two outlets of car heater.its gud or bad??????? he said u ll re connect these pipes in month of nov:-)

    with proper tools/sockets - yes you can change that pipe very easily, its not very expensive either.
