    Default mehran pick

    salam every1,

i have a mehran 95 with good engine condition overhauled 6 mnths ago, the problem which me going to share is my mehran pick yesterday me was drivng mehran 98 of my cousin me totaly shocked that his car is absolutely good in pick but one thing here i want to mention that his car engine weak as compare to mine car,,according to me the ratio between both cars pick is 40:100,, and me talking about pick with CNG..

the clutch plate is good but the paddle of clutch is hard enough to press.... i think due to old cable

plz tell me what to do for good pick and soft drive?

    thanks.

how is your pick on petrol? is it good enough? if yes then you may increase your pick by some adjustment of CNG. The first most easy thing to check is your air fuel mixture. You may be running on too lean mixture. Increase the CNG flow towards carburetor and see what happens. Increment should be in small steps, give half rotation and then check your pick, then again a half rotation and so on.

you need to remove and grease up the centrifugal advance mechanism and make sure that the breaker plate is also smooth functioning. Finally set the dwell and install back.

The centrifugal advance is what causes ignition timing to advance as the engine accelerates.

its not rocket science - the distributor has an rotor that times the ignition to the cylinders, that rotor is fit to a shaft, that shaft is not actually a solid connection to the engine, its a spring loaded connection on top of a shaft. its held steady by weights and springs. When engine rpm increases the weights spread and the timing is advanced.

That mechanism requires greasing or repairing (weight or spring replacement if they are worn out) the breaker place is the plate where the contact points (point) is mounted to - this plate is pulled in by the vacuum advance - if the vacuum pot is bad the advance wont work, if the plate bearings are jammed it wont work.

the difference is night and day in engine performance.

No doubt distributor advance mechanism plays a vital role in engine performance, but besides this a lot of factor involve in it,mentioned as below,

    • Venturi properly installed on carburetor and gas flow pipe properly centered over carburetor neck, also make sure gas flow pipe is not bent.
    • Valve and ignition timing should be properly adjusted.
    • Specified tappet adjustment.(For cng, Inlet.25mm,Exhaust.35mm).
    • Ignition coil, spark plugs & its cable, breaker point must be in perfect condition.
    • Air filter should be neat & clean.
    • proper gas adjustment,etc...
Never loose hope in life, every step gives u something.
