    Angry No Brakes in Mehran

    Hello,

I have just bought Mehran driven just 200KM so far... I feel its brakes are very very bad... like I need press the full pedal to apply brakes otherwise brakes won't work. Also if at the speed of 80 KM/h if I apply brakes then I feel vibration in car...

Can you anyone tell me the solution for this? Is it happening due to new car and just driven 200KM so far? If so then when it will be improve?

    Thanks in advance!

Install Hydraulic Braking system ( Braking Servo ). It will cost you around 2000-2500. It will be from japanese alto mostly. Also use wider tyres like 155/70/R12 or 165/70/R12.

I have hydraulic system and 165/70/R12, and braking is really good.

@hashamraja: Thanks bro, but I don't feel any other issue related to Wheel Balancing. IT only vibrate when I apply brakes on high speed or coming down from any fly-over.

@zia1288: Thanks, one of my friend already have Mehran he asked with his mechanic for Servo Brake Booster. His mechanic stopped him and said that Brake Booster will disturb the brake pads or so...

    Any idea?

No Brother no such thing. Mechanics just do this so that they have simpler cars to work on. Anyways Servo isn't any rocket science. It's bolt on. I've had for more than 5 years on my car now. Yet no problems. It has covered more than 100,000 Km.

@zia1288: Thanks yaar, if I visit Lahore then definitely will contact with you. Which car's booster are you using? Cuore/Alto? What factors should I consider while installing brake booster since my car is only driven just 200KM

Vibration on braking are symptoms of non leveled disk plates so they might need machine work called TOL..
    other reasons could be

    non cylindrical RIM
    improper tyres
    weak master cylinder

Servo Brake Booster can work well if fitted well by skilled mechanic

Ah these are too much things... I have even done first free checkup of my car from suzuki 3S dealer. They asked me to come for first checkup after 800Km done... but these brakes are going worse. What do you think should I contact them back or wait for 800 KM to complete?

Are you planning to install Alloy rims? If yes then install them and get wider tyres. I'm hopefull the vibration will be gone.

Not yet bro, I'm good with stock general tyres... Tyres are not my issue, just vibration thing... I guess all these points to be solved in First Checkup. So I need to drive slowly till first checkup... if I install Sevro before first checkup then Suzuki people will start crying that you installed this and that ...

Well vibration only comes when I apply brakes on high speed lets say 80 Km/h other than that I don't feel any wheel balancing issue. And yes they ask me for first checkup at about 800 - 1000 Km

    What do you suggest?

My suggestion would be to visit them early tomorrow and tell them about this issue. The car is under warranty.. no need to bother. They will sort out the problem.. there is something wrong with the "TAWA" or brake pads.. its better to show them..the vibration will increase with the passage of time.Just simply check it up with 3s

I guess you are right, car is in warranty so it should be their headache to figure-out and fix the problem. Thanks for suggestion brother.

@OP - I will suggest not to do anything for first 5k KMs.

No doubt Mehran brakes are quite hard - specially the newer cars - but it seems that there is some other minor issue as well. Which will hopefully fix in first checkup.

U can install Servo box and its an easy job but a monkey can ruin your car.

Also never buy used servo box as it never works - moreover it may leaks and can damage the paint of your car. It can also leak if not installed properly.

Just buy a new small size servo box and visit a good workshop - they will install it without any alteration.
