drain the water from radiator .. fill any cheap coolant drive your car then check traces of minor leakage ...
if not found then get your radiator serviced .. may be there is a small hole on the core of your radiator generated by the rust

Check water pump. There is a weep hole on the pump when pumps leaks you can see water marks around that hole.

Hows the condition of your radiator? If its weak than it can also leak water which you may not notice as it gets dried.

A cooling system with no leaks should not reduce any water. Its been 3 months water level in my car is at the same level and i didnt add any water.

i think head gasket should b the last and final step.....
first check for all leakages and cracks etc in radiator......check radiator cap and all pipes for cracks and leakeage....

ahazoor - I think you should fire your mechanic and find someone else who knows how to repair cars - not just disassemble and reassemble and pray for it to work.

You have had sooo many questions about the engine part - that it seems that either you car is a complete dead case or your mechanic has no clue about his trade.

Check the system for intergrity - search my posts - ive posted on how to check for leaks with a pressure tester. Once you found the leak sort it out, do not omit the obvious of radiator cap flange leakage or even a small puncture in the overflow pipe (high possibility as the stupid radiator repair shops and mechanics usually tear it)

Im not angry - but I beleive your car is being repaired by a monkey, no-one ever has so many problems occuring at the same time on a recently overhauled engine like yours.

and yes if the head is bad - you may lose cooling water.. but it will always show up as water in oil or cylinder pressure in the cooling system (very high pressure). As I said that you need to make a tool to check integrity of the cooling system there is no "free" way of finding it.

take an old radiator cap, cut off the whole spring valve beneath it and drill a hole in its centre, then weld a nipple on it, or put a tubeless tire valve on it, pump it to 15 psi and check for leaks.
