Dear Bro;
I would like to share my experience of few days back;
I was going from Charsadda to Peshawar Motorway I was in serious hurry as my wife forgot her medicine and Had to rush home to University of Peshawar. I used to be a bike racing guy so going at 140 km/hr sees like a joke to me. So, hit the paddle and touched the last limit of speed, within no time I was in the peshawar tool plaza. It all started when I was cruising through city My engine felt sluggish. Sunlight was in my eyes so I couldn't see the needles and gauges. as I stopped at the side of the road My car was so Hot. as I took off the bonnet, It was hot like hell. I saw that the rubber pipe coming from the water reservoir was out from radiator and all the can of water was empty.
Upon seeing this my brother in law who was sitting next to me said that I heard a Pop during the ride and some green water (collent) spill on his boot. So I guess it was that pop.
My guess is that as I was over speeding the engine got hot and radiator built steam which popped the rubber pipe out and there it was continuously giving way for steam hence water level got low and heated the engine further.
About your case, I guess everything that relates to the cooling system of the engine needs a close inspection which comprize of following parts.
1) radiator
2) pipes
3) water body
4) belt / pulley
5) engine lines for water flow
6) engine Oil and its circulation in the head
7) Heat sensor
etc.
good luck
