if your car ran permanently on CNG get an average on petrol by filling the tank > drive 150+ km > refill it again and calculate its milage
get ur car a temporary tuning first then check it
if it gives u 13-15 then its fine, if comes to 10 or less then change the carburetor, according to my info the jets get opened while running permanently on CNG and absence of petrol

13-15kmpl is a stretch even for new Mehrans. A wild guess is your car will do somewhere around 6-8 kmpl.

6-8 bro...? sincerely if i have one i would surely do what i advised in the first instance, if not improved swap the bloody engine with a new one....on 6-8 i would prefer to keep a 2.5L classic which will at least give me power

The best solution is to rebuild or service the carby, whichever is required. It may improve the mileage.

    thanks for replies

I have this car for 6 months and always used cng as fuel. yesterday i checked whether car is starting on petrol or not by filling approximately 1 liter petrol in tank. the car started and then i drove it till the petrol ended every thing was fine , distance was around 7.5 kms. Today i filled 2 liters petrol and travelled 11 kilometers and then returned home so total of 23.4 kilometers.
car might go another 3 or 4 kms because fuel not ended yet.
average is around 12 to 13 kms/liter. ( this average is after not using petrol for 6 months and now using petrol without any tuning or service)
is this average good enough or the car need tuning.?

12-13 without visiting a mechanic for tuning is almost perfect for a carby car.....

Over the five years of my driving experience, I've learned one thing:

"Avoid the Pakistani mechanics as much as possible. You fix one thing and get involved in a chain of other issues....."
