    Default Tyres for Mehran

    Aoa wr
dear fellows, I have Mehran 2010 model. My tyres are worn out. Currently I have bridgestone 135/70/R 12
Now i want to replace these with new ones. My budget is Rs. 20K/-

Kindly suggest me good tyres and where to find these from Gujranwala.

+ I have attached a pic of General tyre. My query is that are these good for Mehran compared to imported ones e.g. Yokohama, Dunlop etc

+ what is the difference b/w radial and non-radial tyre

    please guide.
    thanks and regards,

Today I visited Gujranwala Market for tyre search. Following rates i found(I visited the auto market at Sheranwala baq and near lari adda):-

    Dunlop 155/70 R12 = Rs. 3600/- Each tyre
    BridgeStone 155/70 R12 = 4800/- each tyre
    Yokohama 155/70 R12 = 4000/- Each tyre
Michelin was not available in R12 but was available in 165/70 R13 = Rs. 5500/- each tyre
China tyres with various names ranging from Rs. 3000/- to Rs. 3500/-
    ---------------------------
Interestingly the autorized dealer of general tyres in gujranwala did not have the stock of 155/70 R12 instead he had 145/70 R-12 with Rs. 3600/- cost for each tyre. + he suggested me to go for Dunlop instead of general tyres.
PS: @faizandawood007 bhai kindly help regarding from which shop i should buy and which tyre as you have searched gujranwala market as well for your coure. Trust plaza k peeche jo market he (japan autos, madina autos and three or four other shops wo sari visit ki hein + shahid tyre house jo sheranwala bag per he usay bi visit kiya he. kindly suggest me a shop and tyre. thanks)
    regards,
Kindly suggest me a suitable option.

FF size is 145/70/12, wide tyres make your car mileage poor. always try to use ff size.

i also visited quite a loooot of shops and in the end bought dunlop from mughal tyre shop near trust plaza.
do check manufacturing date of each tyre if some one have old tyres no matter how cheap his rates are don,t go 4 them
and go 4 the default size if u care about fuel economy and car's health.
the rates u have mentioned are quite reasonable as per my 1 year old experience.
mine are dunlop eco ones and i,m quite happy with them , u can go 4 bridgestone or michelin as u have fair budget although i don,t have experience of bridgestone or michelin but they must be better than dunlop
let me know if u need any help

@epigenius bro, you mean shop names or something else? Shops i visited were shahid tyre house (authorized dealer general tyres) in sheranwala bag + Japan tyre house, Mughal tyre house, madina tyre house etc. And chineese tyres had different names I don't remember exactly.

@faizandawood007 bro, thanks for help. You also helped me finding best mechanic for honda in gujranwala in another thread (waqas autos near police lines). I tried various mechanics for engine/tuning/maintenance including suzuki 3s in gujranwala but found mr. Ramzan (opposite FBR office) very good with reasonable rates in this regard.
Kindly also suggest me some good mechanic for AC in gujranwala as my FF compressor of Denso is died and now i'm planning to install Sanden 505 as a replacement. I've visited various auto AC mechanics but still have no idea which one to go!

+i am currently using bridgestone 135/70 r12 so i wish to change brand this time. My old tyres got a rate of 3700/- (all four tyres)

Michelin is the best brand among these try to find it in ur desired size otherwise give a try to dunlop.
About tyre size u can sure go 4 155 but it will effect ur fuel economy other than that i think there is no harm in switching to 155.
About AC my car also need a full service of AC and also new compressor and i also don,t know any shop in gujranwala so i think here u will have to try someone and then guide me if that person is skilled or not.

    @faizandawood007 bro
Compressor ke best rates meri two days search se mujhe Hashim Engineers se mile hein(wahan aik old person is sitting with white beard). It is located on the road jo k Passport office ko jati he (denga pathak k overhead bridge ki bajae neeche ki lain use krein and take first left). FBR office se le kar sheikhupura mor tak almost all AC walas par search ki. Baba ji (hashim engineers) ne mujhe SANDEN 505(china) ka compressor 6k mein bataya he.
Jo Auto AC walas on GT road hein wo is compressor ki price 7k batate hein. Is k ilawa Denso(singapore) ka genuine compressor open market se 14k mein available he. However Suzuki 3s walas ne 27k rate bataya he Denso (japan) compressor ka.
Compressor k ilawa AC service, compressor GAS pipes change etc cost around 7K. So i have decided to go for SANDEN 505(China) which will cost me around 13~14k in total.

Qabli compressor luck par he ager acha nikal aya to qismat nahi to second day kharab ho sakta he. Qabli compressor koi 4~7k tak available hein. Denso ka 7k mein qabli mil raha tha XLI ka. But I'm not interested of taking risk of 14K amount on Qabli.

So @faizandawood007 bro ap Compressor ke liye Hashim engineers shop ko visit krein and AC fitting k liye i'm still taking comments from coworkers and on forum. Ramzan mechanic (Opposite FBR) ne mujhe Adil AC ko refer kiya he but wahan mujhe koi car ac setting karati nazar nai ai last week mein.

Baba ji (hashim engineers) ka stock 4 days mein karachi se ana he compressors ka. I have ordered a sanden 505(china).

michillen nahi mila R12 dia mein . Its only available in R13 dia wo bhi 165 ki spec k sath. Continental is another very good brand but wo bhi 175 se start ho raha he and R13 mein he.
Shopkeepers Yokohama ki tareef k pul bandte hein but it may be because of the fact that they may get more %age profit on Yokohama tyres. Dunlop is good. So i'll try either Dunlop or Yokohama this time.
    regards,
    Noman

FF is 145/70 r12 but i've read in other thread at PW that for mehran we may go to 155/70 r12 for better road grip and braking experience rather than 145/70 r12. However above 155/70 r12 is a big no no! what you say bro?

145 is to much for mehran 155 is recommended for cultus, even for alto vxr 145 recommended, 145 give you soft staring n 2-3 km extra mileage per letter as compare to 155, now if you want to spend extra money for wide tyres n want to burn more fuel on roads, choice is yours. no road grip or any other problem.

    installed yokohama 155/70 R12 (japan)
Gujranwala market is full of fake products... I was told by two tyre dealers that all tyres are china assembled with different names and stamps in the auto market at gujranwala. The real Dunlop (it was 4 ply) was Rs. 4800/- each (indonesian) at only one shop rest all shops were selling dunlop for rs. 3600/- each which was a china imported fake with stamp... , other genuine stuff was chineese NEXEN 4 ply at Rs. 18000/- for four tyres; and the last genuine was made in pakistan general 4 ply Euro Kompact Rs. 3600/-
Although I had decided to go for General Euro Kompact but I changed my program at the last instance due to the fact that i may sale my car in summer... so if i have some pakistani tyre then will get lesser resale following customer pshcy.. regarding made in japan... so at the last instance gone for Yokohama with made in japan stamp rs. 4000/- each

as per my experience the Yokohama is a soft tyre with good road grip and handling. Its comfort level in driving is equal to Bridgestone B70.

    regards
