I thought SN can be used for all older vehicles? At least that is what is written here and here. However, older grades can not be used for newer vehicles.

Sn oils have less zddp percentage in order to meet emissions standards.

Engines with flat rocker tappets need zddp to control wear and tear.

@margallar yes, I forgot that Mehran had flat tappets. I am used to the hydraulic tappets present in Cultus.

I have a mehran in family which is driven 165000km with ZIC A 10W40 API SN, no engine works done till now only head gasket was replaced at 110k km. It is still strong goes weekly to hill stations. And his oil drain interval was 3000km with OEM oil and air filters. Don't know about current mileage will be less than 170k km but that is a lot of mileage considering here people overhauling there mehran engine too early.

I have a 2003 model run 280,000 kilometers without a rebuild, all its life it has been using 15w-40 API SJ/SL oils - caltex delo gold, liqui moly formula super, mobil delvac super 1300 and now mobil delvac MX.

the engine was rebuilt at 280000, and is now at around 330,000.

As winter is approaching and you just had your cars engine overhauled so i would suggest 10w-40
