Default Installation of aftermarket AC in Mehran 2006

    AOA Fellows,

I intend to install AC in 2006 Mehran.

I have done bit of working on this and have concluded on the below mentioned cost and equipment details

Denso Complete AC fitting KIT for Mehran. 16K-17K Rs.
Compressor Duet (Kabli) Scroll type. 4k-5k
    Labour for Fitting. 4K-8K.

If i use a new Denso compressor, it will cost around 12-15K.

I dont intend to use new DENSO compressor considering the reputation of more load on the engine.

Will keep you guys posted and will try to take pictures too.

Intend to attempt the task within next 2 weeks.

will appreciate guidance from the experts to ensure perfect fit and performance.

I have checked and all AC fitting guys have suggested not to go for SANDEN AC kit considering its locally made and is of not so good quality. trying to get a quote on its price too.

    Do pray all goes well.

    TAKE CARE.

Nice but that is not a factory setup, i said that Denso is being installed by Pak Suzuki in Mehran, since mehran came with AC. It never came with Sanden unit but it was aftermarket item.

price is right. if the guy is honest go for it.

try to be there during the process to ensure they do the detailed job properly.

my aftermarket Qabuli Mehran Compressor (and old genuine Denso Kit with simple black ff condensor) perform good on long route in direcdt sunlight with black shades on, i have tested it from Gujranwala to Multan and back. However, it is not so good in city. I have no heat up issue though (on long route my heat gauge needle was just below the red line).
AC works good when I drive at 70+ on 4th gear and 50+ on 3rd,,,, means on High RPM it blows chilled air however on idle or low RPM it donot works very well.
The Factory Fitted Denso with new car in 2010 used to perform good both on long route and in city which lasted for four seasons and then compressor died.
Also, I am facing another issue that sometimes compressor sleeps for 4-5 minutes after 30 minutes working and in that time car cabin heats up again.

Overall, I am satisfied with a Rs. 8500 qabli setup. However, I will install complete new setup from suzuki (they asked 40k for complete new Denso kit which is FF installed in Mehran EFI) as soon as I got some savings.

+ or maybe i sale this mehran and get a 15 model (I took it to open car market for sale to asses its price... I got the highest offer of 4.9 lack means I will require 2.5 lack extra to get the 2015 VXR model) but I have spent a little extra money on gadgets in it so wana use it for another year (like good sound system) + which is I did a new experiment, I installed leather poshish on seats that looks better than the stock seats, the interior look is changed... Now I have plans to install leather coating under carpet for better cooling and nice look. However, till next year its market value may come down another 15k-20k. Though its just used for 37k KM in 5 years.

    regards,

    regards,
you can see the installation details in this thread. ideally if suzuki is installing orignal japanese Denso compressor than it must not die in 5 years.

use my setup will cost u less and cooling will be better. my car temperature stays below half line with AC and without AC. use proper wiring and ensure factory setup with automatic fan and thermostat valve.

best of luck with improving the insulation of your ride.

bro to my surprise the milage is extremely good ALHAMD U LILLAH. Since there is no gas in ISB since last year. using it completely on petrol.

with good quality petrol i am getting around 15 KM/Litre in city with AC all time.

long route should be better however never used the car on long route.

i had sanden piston orignal japan compressor in my previous 2003 mehran, worked really well without any issues at all and no heat up either. however it does have a sound once u turn on the AC. same is the case with Sanden compressor in my margallah too.

recently installed rotary denso kabli scroll type compressor (in this mehran as shown in the pictures) and it is better since doesnt make any noise at all. also no heat up and works really well.

Also i think milage is better with scroll type compressor.

the difference spal fan makes on cooling is mainly related to when can is not moving and no air is blowing on the condensor like when you are stuck in traffic or idling.

oterwise when the car is running there shouldnt be any impact on the cooling.
