    Default 660cc Carby or EFI

    Dear All;
    Looking for good performance out of a mehran 89 model my home car.
    For that purpose, I intend to swap the engine with a 660 CC Japanese engine

    My question is that; is there any difference between carby and EFI engine regarding its fuel consumption.

    Secondly, fuel efficiency between an auto gear and manual gear system. It is my own perception that an auto gear system will be more fuel efficient.

    Regards
    Naeem

    Default Performance

    Dear All;

    My car is suffering from incompetence of the mechanics here. It is difficult to source the competent mechanic as many claim to be up to the mark but result is pathetic.

    Top speed:
    Roads in Peshawar are not such that One could go beyond 100 km/hr but I took the risk on ring road. It easily reached 130, I was scared to go beyond for road condition and as per power I suppose it could go 140 easily. Right now it is in petrol.

    Consumption:
    At the moment I am not sure as I am going through a busy schedule and my attention is diverted but I guess which may be right or wrong it is doing 14 km/litter. It my reduce to 16 or even less, the reason may be the incorrect computer. I have found out that the electrician has fitted the 16 valve car cpu which is 1800cc for one reason or the other. I have spoke to him and I think he has no idea what is the difference for using a wrong cpu.

    Power:
    I am using it in Petrol at the moment, the power feels like a 1000cc vxr.

    Breaking power:
    I have replaced the conventional breaking system with the hydraulic, thus all four wheels are hydraulically jams up while hitting break, making breaking power double or triple than before. I am so happy with its breaking ability, it is quite unbelievable.

    The conventional mehran is no match for my car now.

    I shall keep you all posted about the remaining tasks.

    Hi Bro @numberonebikesloverr .

    i own a Mehran 2004 ( running perfectly ) and thinking to swap it with a turbo 660cc for better performance. I'm a noob when it comes to engines so it will be a great help if you can guide me properly.

    1- Which is the most power full 660cc turbo engine ?
    2- What will be its total swap cost plus upgrading brakes and other essential things ?
    3- How much alteration will done ?

    I want to make it fastest and safest.
    Hope you understand this all
    Thanks in Advance !

    The man from whom I purchased this engine has no idea about its origin, as per my research on the google I guess is that it’s from DIHITSU Mira or Suzuki wagon-R 660 engine model dating between 1997 to 2003. But I am still not sure.

    About the high price; let me tell you guys, I hand picked it from hundreds of EFI engines lying in front of me in the market. This one was the best and the shopkeeper was asking for 38,000 and no less. After a long discussion it came down to 36,000. I was able to get the same engine but not in such a shiny condition for about 27,500/- but I wanted the best one and the best ones are at best prices. I did not wanted to end up on KABAR with a worn-out engine.

    Today I went about 40 kms. took the approximate reading of the fuel gauge and kept noting as the car traveled. On my way back home I refilled the petrol till the limit where the needle gauge reached about the same place on the dial and noted that It took about Rs. 200/-. My ride was not a smooth drive, it was to a village where it almost felt like going in the city. So, you can say it was a 40 km city drive. For Rs. 200 I guess it was amazingly low consumption.
    Petrol price = 76.76
    How many liters in Rs. 200 = 200/76.76 = 2.60 litters

    It means it went 40 kms in 2.60 liters
    So, ho many kms in one litter = 40/2.60 = 15.38

    For a city drive, not bad for an EFI 660cc I guess. Moreover, there were speed breakers throughout the road even if it was clear, therefore I guess it would go more in a litter in a long and clear road like motor way etc.

    nabeelaslam381 bhai I am like you a nobody with very little experience but I have friends that are mechanics who help me figure out the best, and it is the best way to go about such a swap. There is a lot of market fluctuation all the time so one can’t say the perfect calculation for any expenses to be incurred. I have explained the detailed expenses in the aforementioned post of mine so, do the math and see where you get.

    About turbo; you can’t fit CNG in it as it can’t run on CNG at all for having an all time working turbo in it.

    My car is working on CNG amazingly well.

    Bye for now folks.

    I thought of that as we do in our SARKARI vehicles, Tank full by the Driver then after return tank full on same spot gets the right expenditure

    Dear All;

    Its been long time since I got intouch with my topic due to my Masters exams.

    Recently I have done some mods and change and check up of sensors (map sensor, O2 sensor, CPU wiring etc.) Thought of a smart way to check the consumption:

    I pulled out the pipe that provides petrol to the engine and turned on the switch and put all the petrol in the tank into a container of engine oil that was laying empty. There were digits at one side that showed the level of patrol in litters. When the car’s petrol tank was all empty and no patrol could come out I turned the switch off.

    Now I measured two litters of patrol and put it back into the tank and took the reading of my speed meter. Took the car for a spin and when it finished on patrol I took the reading. It was exact 40 km per two litters, meaning that 20 km per litter on long route.

    I will run the same test for inside city ride as well and post my results.

    Isn’t it amazing guys cause I am really happy with it.

    Please do let me know what you guys think of it.

    We do not have such roads to test speed here in Peshawar, but took the risk on ring road before tool plaza and then on Northern Bypass. On CNG it reached a top speed of 130 km/hr and could go further but the road wouldn't allow it. I am so happy because I am a speed freak, Most of the time testing my bikes for speeds. I have three of them all custom designed by my self, car is a new one for me.
