Dear All; I quote from a website found through google as below:
"An aftermarket performance exhaust can free some of the power in your engine. These systems allow for a quicker, more efficient path for exhaust gases to escape. This means your engine "breathes" better, so spent fuel and air exit the combustion chambers faster. That means more fuel and air can be burned to create more power." My experience says something different:
Some how my exhaust bolts from the engine got lose and the exhaust gasses started to lose before entering the exhaust system and was producing a lot of noise as well.
According the aforesaid facts the car has little exhaust restrictions, therefore the car should accelerate faster but to my complete surprise, car wouldn't accelerate as it used to be with exhaust perfectly in placed, and as I went to the mechanic and he fixed the bolts tight and the exhaust was in place; boom the car accelerates faster.
This query is for experts to debate, please.
What If i use straight through exhaust which I intend to make it my self (I have everything at home, from welding to piping etc.)
Please suggest what can I do to post my acceleration and top speed. By the way car is already fitted with an EFI engine 660cc and getting to 140 Km/hr on petrol and on CNG 130 km/hr maximum.
Sincerely Yours
Naeem
