    Default Why to choose Mehran....

    A. O. A
Before my this post I was strongly against Mehran due to its unjustified price. But now I am in situation where I need fuel economical car.
I even searched for Cherry but that too is discontinued.
JDMs are underpowered and their maintenance is expensive so they also disqualified for my car need.
I have to travel 100KM daily and mehran seems to be only option to accept this challenge (fuel economy wise). I already have 2008 model XLI.
Do you people have some other idea to fulfill my daily traveling needs without being heavy on pockets.
    Budget is 700,000.

    I don't drive fast....I just fly slow

You also have to consider that Mehran's parts have a lower life span; this will become more apparent if you travel 100 km a day. What you save in fuel will be spent replacing the parts, especially suspension, more often.

Don't think that Mehran parts are cheap; original parts are quite expensive actually, and so-called 'kabli' and China maal will require even more frequent replacement.

Mehran is a decent placeholder car for a better upgrade; it shouldn't be used as a long term solution especially for long distance travelling.

IMO get your XLI restored to factory specs, or even better replace it with an Altis of that vintage and get it restored. Those cars have huge aftermarket support worldwide.

Mehran is good only for local duty, like bringing sabzi, gosht from nearby market or take to congested places where you do not want to take your Corolla.

I bought a brand new VXR Euro II for home use in March 2013 and have driven it only 10,000 kms in three years, but believe me it is a torture to drive, steering is very hard, lot of play in gear lever, too much engine sound and gear box sound, too much kharh, kharh and chou chua and dug, dug sounds.

AC is good, it runs fine without any trouble, gives at least 17 kms liter in city and same on motorway if you drive it at 110-120.

But the worst thing is that it gives a very bad pain to your right leg. I had to drive it for four months continuously as waiting for my new Altis and my right leg gave me so much pain that I could not lift it even to change trouser and had to visit doctor several times and three months course of medication and physiotherapy made no difference.

As soon as I started driving my new Altis the pain started receding. My daily office run is more than 50 kms (round trip) and believe me when I reached home on Mehran I could not put my right leg out and had to lift it with my hands and it pained so much especially knee.

A colleague in office also faced pain issue with his Mehran E2 and he is selling it now. I have no experience with Mira but have read some good reviews at Pakwheels. Give it a try I have heard it is comfortable and fuel efficient car.

Exactly, thats what i wanted to know. Better to hear it from the poster i reckon.
Times have changed & technologies have revolutionized mate, these tiny 660ccs have dual over head cams with 53-54 horses worth of power; get a turbo 660 JDM and there you go with a good 63-64 horses boost under your hood.
Import a less mileage jdm all by yourself and you wnt hav to worry about parts.
Alternatively you can also go for a slightly used PKDM Wagon R or a low mileage 2010 Suzuki Swift

Sorry, i just saw your budget. .please ignore the Swift & Wagon R suggestions.
Look for a clean 2006-2007 Liana or an Alto 2008 with less mileage on the board. its dificult bt would be worth it atleast a zilion times beter than a Mehran i reckon
