    Default Radiator fan/Cold-Hot needle

Dear all...i just bought a mehran 2 days back. Car is in mint condition and just 26500km genuinely driven. The fan was direct and i had to make it on automatic. When it was direct, the needle always remained attached to C mark even when i have driven it for 15kms. But after making it automatic, the needle moves to middle after few minutes of running and then stays at the position shown in second pic - that is in the green zone but around 75% away from C. We have a liana and xli too and both cars have fixed needles at exact half way mark all the time between C and H.

So, is the 75-80% deviation ok in mehran? I am talking for non ac running conditions. Fan is kicking on and off perfectly as i observed it myself and comes up all the time when ac is turned on.

First pic is of starting the car in the morning today. Second and third ones are on reaching office at II Chundrigar road (around 15km).

Went to electrician again today on my way back. Needle was at 75% position at that time. He said yr car is ACTUALLY overheating. I asked him to make the fan direct. On doing so, he noticed the fan was actually running in the wrong direction and therefore the air direction was NOT towards the engine but towards outside !!!! Means pehle electrician ne tou meri almost #?&%@ kara dee thi!!

He remade the connections, the fan ran in opposite direction and he showed me that now the air stream is towards the engine and needle should not cross the mid point in any case. And then on my way back, the needle kept in middle all the time. Means issue is resolved

your car is properly shagged then..

backwards running fan? how blind do you have to be not to see that - just look at the fan blade and see where its lower points are relative to the spin, if you imagine it sitting on the ground flat - the blades should act like a spade digging up dirt when normal rotation is applied - that way you know the fan blade is oriented correct.

If your engine is cooled by tap water - specially a mehran then the steel pipe that carries coolant to the pump (vaturrbaady) would be rusted internally and actually have a tiny size - this will overheat the engine as water/coolant/liquid cannot pass through this tiny pipe.

That ulta fan running was done by an electrician just yesterday. But i have made it proper today. Tstat is installed since day one, radiator runs on tap water. I intend to service it and pour in coolant. What do you about Guard genuine coolant? Mehran needs 2 liters?

replace the pipe at the back of the engine where it goes to the water pump, It will be blocked with rust. Fill your coolant after this service. Buy caltex, fuchs, emarat or zic

Pouring in coolant in a rusted radiator and piping is suicidal?

Lol Haha. Let me add my experience. Two days ago got head assembly of my car changed from Bilal Ganj. Mechanic called an electrician who sent his "shagird" who did his "jugaard" and made my car running without inserting key in ignition. MashaAllah.
Later his "ustaad" came and corrected the wiring and burnt the radiator fan which was already shorted by his shaagird. Costed me extra 1200 rupees to change fan motor. At the end that dumb mechanic asked me to pay him 900 rupees labor for wrong wiring and shorting my car's radiator fan saying there is no warranty of electric work. GREAT. Thanks God, his jugaard did not damage my cars computer (ECU) or entire wiring.
So, be careful and get things done from experienced people or start doing them yourself. I now do many small repair works of my car by my own hands after having bad experience with these dumbsters and imbeciles.
