    Default Car starting problem

    Salam

As the title suggests i am having this problem since today evening. Car is mehran euro2 15000 km driven. Today I went to saddar and back and the car was running fine, started on half self as usual but in the evening when i tried to start it there was not even the sound of self just a tick sound. Showed it to a nearby hathora mechanic he said self is gone so get it repaired and he started it on DHAKKKA start and it started fine. one more noteworthy thing to mention is here that when driving the car when i was reving the accelerator ac blower speed got increased as well as the headlights became bright otherwise the blower is throwing air with less power and headlights have become dull since the problem arised.

weak battery most probably........connect voltmeter to battery with engine off and then start it.....on off voltage should be greater than 12.5 volt.....and on started it shoud be 14+ volts maximum to ensure that generator is working fine......moreover to check self issue.....turn on the headlights and then start the engine if lights dim or go off then its battery otherwise starter motor issue.....most probably its weak battery accounting mileage of car.

But how can battery go bad so early with just 15000km mileage as the car is not very old and its with me for 1.4 years. May be it happened as recently 3 to 4 cells of the battery went dry to the level where the plates were exposed. I topped it with distilled water but since then the performance was not as before.

batteries which come genuine with mehran usually dnt last so long as i m victim of this also because they are of very low amperage.....u can further chech it by checking specific gravity of each cell....moreover cars with low mileage often dnt have chance to fully recharge battery due to short trips thus causing sulfation and decreasing life of battery.
