Default Mehran Silencer "Dholki" & other problems

    Hi Pakwheelers,

I have three things to ask:

    a) My Mehran Silencer dholki is cracked and it has a hole nearly two inches, exhaust also come out from there and you can also here the sound of exhaust coming out from beneath(Dholki). Is there any damage of it to car, Should I immediately repair it.

    b) When My Mehran engine is running on petrol and I pull the choke out, the exhausts colour from the Silencer turns to black accompanying with a bad smell as if plastic is burning and on pushing it off, everything is fine again. Whats the logic behind the choke. Is it mixes engine oil in the Engine.

    c) When I start my mehran on CNG it gives out white flames in the exhuast for SOMETIME and on petrol it never gives out white flames. When I start it on petrol it is fine when I switch to CNG it agains start white flames. These all things happens when I start my car not afterwards. Some mechanic told us that it is due to weak Heads on the walves. What do u say?

Please answer if u know any of these three or all answers. I will be very thankfull.

a). silencer problem has no ill affect on car except for the noise which if u are ready to bear is no problem. waisay get it repaired. we all owe something to the environment too !!

b). the choke action allows more air to enter the carby hence in turn more petrol and the fuel air mixture hence becomes rich and is easily ignited. smoke and smell is due to that reason. u would also notice reduced accelerator padel application when choke is applied. i hope u are not in habit of pulling out choke while the engine is running normally choke is only for easy starting (normally required during winter)

c). if the coming out of smoke from exhaust is only during starting that should not be a problem i guess. if ur car smokes continuously only that should worry you.
