Default My Mehran 2001 is not starting on CNG in morning

    AOA Dear Members!

I want to get your advice about my car. It has a problem that it is not starting on CNG in morning or if engine is not started for 4-5 hours. As a result i hv to push it and then it gets started. i have replaced its 'point' get its timming adjusted as well, did CNG tunning also but all became useless. Once it is started then i can start again just on a single self. But if the engine has been turned off for a long time then i am unable to start it on CNG.

But if i turn off the engine on petrol then it gets started on 2nd self.

I conculted a CNG mechanic, he said to clean the CNG kit.
But thsi morning after giving my car alot of push ups i tried atatching its cable to another batteyr and then it started on 2nd self.

Now i dont know that where is the exact problem. Either it is with my batteyr or with CNG kit.

    Please advice me. Thanks!

You yourself have diagonesed the problem.

First check your battery. It most probably is the battery.if battery is alright than clean the kit. Do adjustments from a expert cng wallah. Problem solved

Petrol requires less power (apparent by less efforts during ignition) to start. It is not that cold in isloo for this problem to occur for any other reason. Is your fan direct? Thermostat working? I'm assuming that when you got you car tuned, you got your spark plugs cleaned and their gaps adjusted.

Ask a friend for a spare battery, one that you know works, for one morning only. Many ppl have UPSs these days so someone might be able to help you. Also, the CNG in the cylinder might be too cool for the engine to handle. Do check if it is getting any unnecessary exposure to the outside world. Just a hunch! Still it's not THAT cold yet.

There's a 'Direct Fan' discussion also going on in the forum do check it out. Someone told me that in the direct fan configuration, the cold water in the radiator runs through the engine (not IN the engine) making it cooler for CNG to ignite. You could add hot water in the radiator before trying to ignite.

    dear omer,

disconnect the wires of the battery at night. Connect to battery in morning and try it.

Check what @k says and also get your dynamo (generator) checked. It may be grounding your battery.

Others have covered all aspects including cng, battery, generator, etc.
I just want to add my bit.
Get your 'sulf' (or self) checked. If 'bushes' have a problem then you dont need to spend 2500 on battery. Before purchasing a new battery get it checked.

Always get a part checked before replacing it. If 'self' was a problem then the car won't start on petrol either (or readily on CNG after some time of operation).

its time to go for a "dry cell battery" dude ... ive tested both batteries including (dry cell) and (wet cell).in winters its a common (wet cell) battery problem of mehran that it never starts on cng in first attempt.and if u will keep on trying to crank again n again the battery will particularly die on u :-P.so for that u gonna need to crank it by the help of some other car by attaching jumper cables to its battery.
on the other hand a dry cell battery got more cranking power in summers and especially in winters.a good dry cell battery might costs u 4k.but believe me its worth it.i myself using dry cell battery and 100% satisfied.now winters were no problem for me atleast lol :-)

Its not ur cng kit bro its definitely ur battery which is causing u problems.and take ur car to some mechanic and ask him to clean ur starter motor.yeh kaam apni nigrani mey karwayein.bcuz these mechanics were so trained that they will take out ur new starter motor and put in some old one so better watch out ... all the best (Y)

How can i get my battery checked that weather it is weak or not???? is there any way??

yes there is alwayz a way lol.go to some well known battery shop.ask the guy to check or test ur cars battery power.then he will ask u to do some necessary tasks.first ul have to open ur hood and he will attach 2 wires with ur battery comming from his analog machiene which will read batteries performance in different levels and will ask u to sit inside the car and start it,then revive it,then turn on the ac to further check the load on battery, then turn on the head lights etc etc ... thats it after that he will tell u wether ur car battery is healthy or weak.if ur battery is weak then he will recharge it for 3 to 4 hours.but if its old then u might want to get a new one.he can also test ur batteries fluid that how strong it is by putting small tube like thing inside battery terminals one by one.

Secondly some one advising me to keep starting it on petrol, as to further diagnose and fix the problem i ll be just psending my money.

    What todo now?

whos advising u to start it on petrol ? my mehran easily starts on cng and that too in winters on very first crank but do remember am using dry cell battery.
