dude, when mehran comes from the showrooms, they have been run something like 150km's @ testing and running and the company mis-uses the cars at that time!!!

Of course, theres always a factor of 2 number brake pads, but changing the pads gets rid of the problem!

And yah, I'll advise you to change the tyres, the GENERAL ones cuz they suck and screach too!!

The disc and drum brakes also make a difference. Mehran probably has all drums, old technology. Adam Revo has all four disc brakes. UQ, Bro, have placed the order already, What about REVO, did you consider that, Its your choice, but Revo is worth a look, as Mehran has too many problems.

mehran has discs in the front.. and yes mehran has brake problems indeed .. their have been so many proposed solutions. but people buy Mehran only becuase its cheap and economical.. no body expexts sports car performance from it. i have a lancer, a santro and a mehran .. whenever i drive my mehran after driving the others i feel that it has no brakes.. but after some time i get used to it.. so i think the brakes are fine..

Mehran does not have servo assisted brake, so more u push the more brake u have, much like a bicycle. According to some experts, 38hp engine does not require sophisticated braking.

I am not sure why is Suzuki, Pakistan is playing with our lives...I mean putting a good quality disk pads dont cost much but "they dont care". By the way I am a victim of these "disk pads". Last year got a new Mehran LE (by the way was last car was a Subaru, which the family had it from 1988 but to my surprise a 1986 car in every way was far much much better than a brand new 2004 model), anyways within next few months I had 1st ever crash of my life, and all because of the pads. The damn thing gave up (I was driving at about 50km/h). The worst thing was that the dealer (Federal Motors, Isb.) told me "oh you should have got these changed earlier, the day you received the car". I told them to put a sticker telling a new buyer to change these before driving out of showroom.
So ppl who are about to get new Mehran (not sure about others models) kindly do change the DISK PADS (a good pair will be around Rs. 450-500) And also, get checked all the nuts and bolts of this car before driving out of a showroom.

I own a Mehran and the brakes are just ok. The tyres are pathetic too (General) and so i guess the combination results in poor braking. My car however has stopped me from bumping into others only if i really floor the brakes. Changing pads and tyres seems like a good solution.

Mehran does not have servo assisted brakes/power brakes/booster brakes.. it has a simple braking system with discs and callipers in the front and drums in the rear.

if someone is in habbit of smelling dung while commuting then tonga is definitely better for him, all companies are giving grains and grass to their engines to get more power from same horse.

MEHRAN'S brakes are good dudes. I have driven the latest model of mehran and i think it has excellent brakes as compared to previous models. It also depends on the braking style of the driver. On thing mehran lacks is road grip and for that u can have tyres of ur mehran replaced with better ones.

    hello!
yaar bleeding was not required in new cars.....its done when air comes in brake lines....but new mehran did'nt require that....changing of brake pads and shoe's can solve that problem and if not satisfied so u have to put Brake Booster.........bleeding does'nt work in that

Bleeding is required for all hydraulic brakes. If there is brake fluid required then bleeding is also required.

    hello!
spectra....yeah but i am saying that in this case where they says that car is new and they are not satisfied with brakes......so i think bleeding here was just of no use bcz its done when air is inside the braking system...here they can change brake shoes and pads instead of bleeding the brake oil.....

To be on the safe side, one should get brakes bleed even in new car, because we know our pakistani brothers who assemble these things.
